Senna Agius could get his long-awaited move up to MotoGP, as higher-ups see his presence on the track as a huge marketing boost for 2027.
Agius has been targeting a move up to MotoGP in 2027, now competing in his fifth and possibly final season in Moto2.
While some teams kept an eye on Agius for 2026, no move ended up materialising, leaving the Australian in Moto2 for yet another year.

Most recently, Agius was linked to Jack Miller’s Pramac seat, as the latter’s future is unsure, as Yamaha are undergoing a serious reshuffle in 2027.
However, it appears Senna Agius could get his move to MotoGP thanks to senior officials wanting his presence on the track in his home country in 2027.

MotoGP SEG could help Senna Agius land Pramac seat next season for ‘marketing’ push
According to the Spanish outlet Todo Circuito, the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group are eyeing a move to bring Senna Agius to Pramac next season, possibly to replace Jack Miller.
They believe Agius, a native Australian, can help generate local buzz when MotoGP goes down under, and the Adelaide street circuit makes its debut in 2027.
“There are major factors at play. The Adelaide street circuit will debut in 2027, and Dorna Sports (MotoGP SEG) wants an Australian driver at the front of the pack.
“If Jack Miller doesn’t stay with Pramac, attention could turn to Senna Agius. The young Australian is Manu Gonzales’ teammate and already knows what it’s like to win races.
“It would be a risky bet, but one that makes a lot of sense from a marketing perspective for the championship.”

While this report suggests MotoGP is keeping an eye on Jack Miller’s situation with Pramac, by no means is it a given that the veteran Aussie is set to lose his seat.
Miller getting a new deal from Yamaha is considered unlikely, as they look to go in a new direction across their factory and satellite teams.
Initially, some believed Miller could use Adelaide as a bargaining chip, given that he is the only Australian MotoGP rider on the track.
However, if Todo Circuito’s report is accurate, then Miller loses that leverage, as he would be replaced in this scenario with a fellow Aussie, one who is younger and can advance the sport further.
