Senna Agius is a target for multiple MotoGP teams for 2027, and a potential move to Trackhouse is now ‘gaining traction’.
The Australian Moto2 rider is among several young talents being linked with a promotion to the premier class. David Alonso and Daniel Holgado are already confirmed for 2027 at Honda and Gresini, respectively, according to reports, and Agius could be joining them.
Which 2026 Moto2 rider deserves to be on the MotoGP grid?
The 20-year-old is a firm title contender in Moto2 this season. After winning the last two races, Agius is second in the standings, nine and a half points behind championship leader, Manu Gonzalez.
He is proving himself to be a real talent with strong potential. MotoGP teams are taking notice of him, and Trackhouse could be his destination.

Senna Agius is ‘gaining traction’ to join Trackhouse in 2027
As aforementioned, multiple teams are interested in the young Aussie. KTM could sign Agius, with him in the frame alongside the likes of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Brad Binder for the seat.
Now, according to a report from AS, Trackhouse Aprilia are now in the mix. A potential move to the satellite team is ‘gaining traction’ and could be his new home in 2027.
Trackhouse could be set for wholesale changes next year. Ai Ogura is joining Yamaha alongside Jorge Martin, while Raul Fernandez’s future in MotoGP is ‘still uncertain’.
Trackhouse are also interested in Joan Mir, with his contract at Honda set to expire this year. If both Ogura and Fernandez depart, however, the door would be open for Agius, and it looks to be a real possibility.

Could Senna Agius be the only Australian rider on the MotoGP grid in 2027?
Agius joining MotoGP would be huge commercially. Liberty Media is looking to expand the sport and bring new nationalities, with Australia being a key market, especially with the Adelaide street circuit coming to the calendar in 2027.
However, it could be possible that he is the only Aussie on the grid next year. Agius is also linked with a move to Pramac, and with Toprak Razgatlioglu already locked in for 2027, he would be replacing his fellow countryman, Jack Miller.
Mick Doohan says Senna Agius is going from “strength to strength” in Moto2 🇦🇺 Do you think we’ll see him on the 2027 MotoGP grid?
Let us know in the comments below!
According to Ricard Jove, Miller is ‘nervous’ about his future, and that Agius could be the only Aussie on the grid next season if he is to join Pramac, or indeed if he joins MotoGP and Miller leaves the sport.
Izan Guevara is a top talent for Pramac and is already associated with Yamaha, making him the ideal candidate over Agius. But the 20-year-old does have attractive offers elsewhere.
