Yamaha can run a dream 2027 MotoGP rider line-up by promoting Toprak Razgatlioglu into their works team and re-signing Jack Miller, with Izan Guevara due to join Pramac.

The MotoGP rider market has been in overdrive this season, after 19 of the 22 riders on the premier class grid started this year on expiring contracts. Three of those 19 riders are in the Yamaha stable in works team stars Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins, plus Pramac racer Miller.

Pramac ace Razgatlioglu is the only rider with a Yamaha contract beyond 2026, as he agreed an initial two-year deal to leave the World Superbike Championship. He is also the only rider currently set to stay with Yamaha next year, as Quartararo is expected to join Honda in 2027.

Yamaha moved early to replace Quartararo with Jorge Martin, who is believed to be leaving Aprilia on a two-year contract next season. And reports now claim Moto2 prospect Guevara is practically certain to join Pramac in 2027, as he is destined for the satellite Yamaha squad.

Yamaha should promote Toprak Razgatlioglu and re-sign Jack Miller, with Izan Guevara set to join Pramac

With Guevara now looking set to step up from Moto2 with Pramac and as Yamaha still have a vacancy in their factory MotoGP line-up for 2027, the Japanese brand should look to offer Miller a new contract to stay with Pramac and promote Razgatlioglu to partner with Martin.

Yamaha are likely to release Rins after his contract ends, yet Miller’s role in the Iwata outfit’s V4 engine programme could see him earn a fresh deal for 2027, when MotoGP also moves to 850cc engines. Miller is critical to Yamaha’s engine development with Quartararo leaving.

A line-up of Martin and Razgatlioglu at Yamaha, plus Miller and Guevara at Pramac, could be a dream roster for the Japanese giant in 2027. As well as helping to develop their V4 engine, Miller can use his experiences to help Guevara adapt to MotoGP, like he is with Razgatlioglu.

Razgatlioglu regularly praises Miller for his help adapting to MotoGP after leaving the WSBK paddock to take on a huge challenge learning a new bike, Michelin tyres and several circuits. With everything that Miller offers, he may be Yamaha’s ideal partner for Guevara at Pramac.

Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi has previously likened Izan Guevara to Valentino Rossi

The 2027 MotoGP regulations could make moving up from Moto2 a very daunting challenge for Guevara next term, no matter how highly those at Yamaha and Pramac already rate him. Guevara joined Pramac Yamaha’s Moto2 team in 2025, and he is now a 2026 title contender.

After winning the 2025 season-ending Valencia Grand Prix for his first victory in Moto2, the 21-year-old started 2026 with P2 in Thailand, P6 in Brazil and P3 in America to sit second in the standings. Guevara is only 3.5 points behind Manuel Gonzalez in the Moto2 standings.

Ricard Jove has also claimed on X that Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi would back a deal for Guevara to graduate to MotoGP. Borsoi is a big believer in Guevara’s ability, having even likened the Spaniard to Valentino Rossi back in 2022 during his title-winning Moto3 season.

Borsoi told MARCA in 2022: “I think he’s quite similar to Valentino Rossi, because of the way he rides the bike, his constant desire to win, and also a little bit because of the way he lives in the paddock with the team.

“He’s always laughing, always joking around. He doesn’t work as much as he should, that is the reality, but his talent makes up for everything. He doesn’t work as much as Valentino did back in the day. When I see him, I say, ‘He looks like a copy of Valentino’.”

Also, Borsoi named Guevara as a contender for a 2027 MotoGP ride last December, after the Spaniard impressed the Pramac boss during his “really good” private test in Valencia riding a Yamaha MotoGP bike. Guevara was also the first Pramac Moto2 rider to try the Yamaha M1.
