Jack Miller signed a one-year deal to stay with Pramac for the 2026 MotoGP season, but he is one of the riders at risk of losing their seats in the anticipated 2027 reshuffle.
Miller was the second-best Yamaha rider last year behind Fabio Quartararo, although the Frenchman was on his own level. Miguel Oliveira, who had a break clause in his contract, paid the price for losing out to his teammate.
After signing Toprak Razgatlioglu for their satellite team, Yamaha considered forming an all-new line-up. Moto2 runner-up Manuel Gonzalez nearly got a Pramac seat, while eventual champion Diogo Moreira decided to join Honda.
Which three riders are under the most PRESSURE heading into 2026? 🥵
Miller only just survived, so it’s obvious that he’s under pressure heading into 2026. If Razgatlioglu is able to beat him relatively quickly despite the gulf in experience, the questions about his position will intensify.
Gino Borsoi says Izan Guevara could get 2027 MotoGP seat
After winning his first Moto2 race at the season finale in Valencia, Izan Guevara was invited to test for Yamaha in Valencia.
In a video posted by the factory team on Instagram, Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi applauded Guevara’s swift adaptation to the MotoGP bike.
Borsoi also said, seemingly without prompting, that Guevara was a contender for a 2027 MotoGP seat. Given that Razgatlioglu has signed a multi-year deal, that appears to put Miller directly under threat.
Where do you think Jack Miller will be racing in 2027?
“Honestly speaking, he had a really good test,” said Borsoi. “Straight away, after just a few laps, he was already on line with the other MotoGP riders.
“The skill that he has to understand in a really short time what he has to do on the bike, it’s impressive. I hope this skill will be the key to go into MotoGP in 2027 maybe, that’s it.”
Who is Izan Guevara, Jack Miller’s potential replacement at Pramac?
Guevara won the Moto3 world championship in 2022 after taking seven wins and 12 podiums in 20 races. Moreira, who’s the same age (21), was one of his competitors that year.
The Spaniard has been a slow burner in the intermediate class, improving from 22nd in his first season to 17th in year two and 11th this term. That Valencia win was just his third podium in the championship.
Gonzalez has to be the Moto2 title favourite, while Guevara is slipping under the radar. Still, Borsoi’s comments mean he’s certainly one to watch in 2026.
