Jorge Martin has further fuelled the flames of the MotoGP rider market by making his prediction for how the grid will line up for the 2027 campaign, including the team he has been rumoured to have finalised an agreement with: Yamaha.
Ahead of the first official week of testing for the upcoming premier class campaign, it emerged that Jorge Martin was finalising an agreement to join Yamaha in 2027, just hours after a similar story broke that linked Fabio Quartararo with a move to Honda.
Official confirmation of the switches is yet to be announced, with them being expected ahead of this year’s season opener in Thailand.
However, it hasn’t stopped the rumours from flying about, with it being understood that most riders want to have their futures sorted before the 22-race calendar begins at the start of March.

MotoGP fans react to Jorge Martin’s prediction for the 2027 grid
Martin was the latest member of the current grid to theorise on how every team will line up in 2027, following Marc Marquez’s interesting predictions that dropped just a few days ago.
The most notable forecast that Martin made was putting himself at Yamaha as he stated, “Just because of the rumours!”
Following Martin’s prediction making the rounds on social media, fans were quick to voice their opinion on the 2024 world champion’s thoughts.
One fan noted the irony of the Spaniard’s decision, commenting under the video on Instagram, “Puts himself in Yamaha for the ‘rumours’ like he hasn’t already signed the contract.”
A few keen-eyed fans also highlighted the fact that he put Francesco Bagnaia alongside him at the Iwata-based team for next year, with one writing, “So Martin and Bagnaia at Yamaha factory next year? Hmmm…”
Another thinks Martin has inside information on the rumours that have been flying about, saying, “Putting him and Pecco in Yamaha, Quartararo in Honda, and Alex in KTM Factory… Seems like he already knows something.”
Given the fact that Marquez’s prediction was mainly made in jest, an overwhelming sentiment for Martin’s predictions was that he is actually being truthful in his forecast.
One fan wrote, “First one to speak facts,” while another commented, “The rumours are all accurate!”
A final fan is certain that Martin has got his predictions right, posting, “First truthful prediction video for the 2027 season, pretty accurate too, I bet!”

Yamaha are rumoured to be Francesco Bagnaia’s preferred option for the 2027 MotoGP season
With Pedro Acosta likely heading towards Borgo Panigale at the conclusion of the upcoming term, the future of Bagnaia has been in question for quite a while now.
Pretty much every manufacturer on the grid has been touted as a potential destination for the two-time world champion, but it has been suggested that Yamaha is Bagnaia’s preferred option.
MotoGP fans believe Bagnaia is making the wrong move by opting to move to Iwata over some of the other candidates that are vying for his signature.
Aprilia have been identified as Bagnaia’s ‘best option’, due to their recent emergence as a genuine contender for race wins over the last 12 months.
