Pramac team manager, Gino Borsoi, believes Toprak Razgatlioglu will have a lot going in his favour next season.

Razgatlioglu has struggled since joining Pramac, as he hasn’t adapted to the jump from Superbike to MotoGP as many had hoped.

While there are some who have praised Razgatlioglu for his early performances, there is a belief that he finds himself struggling with the massive difference between Superbike and MotoGP.

Toprak Razgatlioglu has already crashed more in 2026 than he did in the whole of last season!

His current woes with Pramac have also caused some speculation that Razgatlioglu will join Yamaha in 2027.

But it appears Pramac internally expect Toprak Razgatlioglu to stay with the team next year. However, the expectations for him next season compared to this one will be dramatically different.

Gino Borsoi admits Toprak Razgatlioglu faces ‘difficult task’ this season

Speaking to Nico Abad at Universo Aspar, Pramac team manager Gino Borsoi explained why Toprak Razgatlioglu has faced such difficulty in his first season.

He noted that the jump for Superbike to MotoGP is complex, and Razgatlioglu is having to learn on the job. But with a simpler bike in 2027 and the introduction of Pirelli tyres he is familiar with, Toprak will be held to a higher standard by the team next year.

“It’s going to be difficult for him, just like it will be difficult for many riders who have talent. MotoGP is a complex world where there is a lot of technology. He also faces a much more difficult task, doesn’t he?

“He has been a Superbike rider, where he has always managed Pirelli tyres, which are very different from what we have in MotoGP, and he has to learn, apart from the world of MotoGP, how to manage Michelin tyres, which are also different.

“He can no longer brake like he used to, which is the point of strength of the Pirelli tyres. He can’t enter the corners like he used to in Superbike. He has to manage the braking, and that’s what he’s finding difficult. It is also true that next year, we will have a new set of regulations.

“Theoretically, a simpler bike, an easier bike, with slightly less power, less input, and a tyre he is already familiar with. It could be the moment when he can start to take off in our paddock. But he still has a long way to go.

“We are trying to help him in every way we can, trying to give him all the advice possible so that this difficult path becomes a little easier.”

Pramac warn Toprak Razgatlioglu that success won’t be handed to him ‘on a silver platter’

Speaking further about how Razgatlioglu is handling his recent struggles, Borsoi noted that he is frustrated, but he likes seeing that from him.

However, he did make sure to warn Razgatlioglu that success in MotoGP is difficult, and that he will need to be patient.

“Like all riders, and especially one who has won three world championships, he isn’t taking it very well. That’s normal. I also like that he doesn’t handle it well, because you can see, right?

“He wants to stand out; he wants to be up there as soon as possible. But in MotoGP, nobody will hand you anything on a silver platter. The journey is long. But with the talent he has, I’m sure he will get there.”

Razgatlioglu will likely benefit from the regulation changes next year, especially as it pertains to the jump from Michelin to Pirelli tyres, given his experience.

However, for now, it is up to the Turkish rider to work on his craft, adapt to MotoGP this season, so that he can capitalise next year and show what he is made of in 2027.
