Jack Miller looks set to stay at Pramac with Toprak Razgatlioglu ‘likely’ to join Yamaha in 2027

Yamaha are now looking likely to promote Toprak Razgatlioglu to replace Alex Rins in their factory MotoGP crew, which will also help Jack Miller to stay at Pramac in 2027.

Razgatlioglu has only made his MotoGP debut riding for Pramac on a works Yamaha contract this season. But the expected departure of Fabio Quartararo to Honda and Rins struggling to deliver results in 2026 is already believed to be tempting Yamaha to move Razgatlioglu over.

It is an open secret in the paddock that Quartararo has agreed to join Honda for 2027, as he lost faith in Yamaha’s ability to develop their bike. The Iwata squad moved quickly to find an heir for the 2021 champion, with it said that Yamaha are set to sign Aprilia ace Jorge Martin.

Yamaha are also now understood to be considering fielding Martin and Razgatlioglu as their works 2027 line-up, as Rins is out of contract at the end of 2026. Razgatlioglu moving up to Yamaha might even spell good news for Miller, whose factory contract also lapses this year.

Everything points to Jack Miller staying at Pramac, as Yamaha plot Toprak Razgatlioglu replacing Alex Rins

That is according to Fox Sports Australia, which claims Razgatlioglu is now ‘likely’ to start the 2027 MotoGP regulations era as a factory rider, as Yamaha are already committed to him for their future. The 29-year-old signed an initial two-year deal to move from World Superbikes.

Razgatlioglu will take Rins’ place at Yamaha, and clear a space for Miller to stay at Pramac in 2027. Yamaha see next season’s regulations change as the ideal chance to find a future star, so they are expected to debut a Moto2 rider – most likely Pramac Moto2 gem Izan Guevara.

Guevara’s MotoGP graduation would not threaten Miller’s future at Pramac if Yamaha have Razgatlioglu replace Rins. Yamaha also believe Miller is a dependable rider who can help to develop their V4 engine, is a stable baseline and he needs them as much as they need him.

Thus everything points to Yamaha keeping Miller at Pramac for 2027, but he faces a ‘longer’ wait to sign whatever contract they ultimately agree on. The 31-year-old faces waiting until the biggest rider moves are finalised before Yamaha are prepared to put a deal on the table.

Miller can be the perfect mentor for Guevara at Pramac in 2027 if Yamaha take Razgatlioglu into their factory fold next year. The Australian has been a key ally for Razgatlioglu while the three-time World Superbike champion adapts to MotoGP in the last year of the 1,000cc era.

The four-time premier class Grand Prix winner’s 12 seasons on the MotoGP grid give him all the experience that Yamaha need to mentor Razgatlioglu, or a rising talent like Guevara next year. It has been claimed that Guevara is destined to debut in MotoGP with Pramac in 2027.

Spanish 21-year-old Guevara is contesting his fourth season in Moto2 this term, but has only now emerged as a title contender. The 2022 Moto3 champion took his maiden intermediate class win in Valencia last November, and scored two podiums in the first three races of 2026.
