Pramac boss Gino Borsoi believes that Toprak Razgatlioglu does not have the mindset to compete with his rivals in MotoGP.

The Turkish rider is four races into his MotoGP debut after moving from World Superbikes. He has scored just one point as he works on adapting to Yamaha’s M1 and V4 engine.

It is early days, but his results have not sat well with the 29-year-old. Razgatlioglu agrees with Fabio Quartararo that he is losing the enjoyment of riding, which might explain why Borsoi says he has to improve his mindset.

Toprak Razgatlioglu has already crashed more in 2026 than he did in the whole of last season!

Of course, the Pramac rider is working hard to find improvements and adapt to MotoGP. He has experienced people around him to help with that, but Razgatlioglu admits it is hard to follow Andrea Dovizioso’s advice.

Yamaha’s woes with the bike are also limiting him, with Borsoi admitting that Razgatlioglu does not have the tools to compete. But the boss wants to see his rider make steps forward himself.

Gino Borsoi says Toprak Razgatlioglu needs to improve his ‘MotoGP mindset’

Speaking via GPOne, Borsoi outlined how, while Razgatlioglu is making progress, it is not enough to put him ‘on par’ with his rivals. He has to improve his mentality.

“In my opinion, he still needs to improve his MotoGP mindset,” he said. “He’s not as far off as he was at the start – his improvements are evident – but they’re not enough to be on par with our paddock.

“Aside from the fact that he’s a good guy, which is positive for us, he’s very professional and also smart. When we teach him something, he tries to put it into practice as soon as he gets back on the track.

“No one knows how many months or seasons it will take him to become one of the best MotoGP riders, but he’s definitely a smart and talented rider. So, I hope he succeeds very soon.”

Gino Borsoi outlines the positives of having Toprak Razgatlioglu at Pramac

Borsoi adds that Razgatlioglu is a great addition to the team alongside Jack Miller. It gives them the perfect balance of experience and inexperience, which he claims can help Pramac.

“It’s always good to listen to the rider, even if he lacks experience. Actually, we’re lucky because we have an excellent line-up: a rider with experience and one without.

“That means that when the bike starts working well for both of them, we’re on the right track. Sometimes, listening to riders who lack experience in the MotoGP world also helps the technicians adapt a different direction, approach, and mindset.

“So, it’s a positive to have Toprak on the team. Not only because he’s a very talented rider, but also because he has a fresh perspective. On the other hand, Jack has experience with different manufacturers and can give us better feedback on the right direction.”
