Marco Bezzecchi has identified what aspect of the 2027 MotoGP regulations will play a huge part next season, and it’s something Toprak Razgatlioglu has a great deal of experience with.
With the way his MotoGP rookie season has gone so far, Razgatlioglu will be eagerly awaiting the 2027 regulation changes.
One of Toprak’s biggest issues this season has come thanks to the tyres. Razgatlioglu has struggled with Michelin tyres this year, specifically, the rear tyres.

Toprak’s experience with SuperBikes has made his current struggles in MotoGP all the more sour, as he finds himself sitting 20th in the championship standings with just a single point.
However, Marco Bezzecchi’s prediction for the 2027 regulations and the changes they bring might prove to be Toprak Razgatlioglu’s saving grace in MotoGP.

Marco Bezzecchi claims Pirelli tyre move ‘difficult to predict’ ahead of 2027 regulations
Speaking in an interview with Will Buxton and Kevin Harvick, Marco Bezzecchi was asked about what he thinks will be the biggest challenge in the new regulations set to come in 2027.
The current championship leader noted that the jump from Michelin tyres to Pirelli tyres will cause problems for riders, as they will massively impact their riding style and data study.
“We will have to adapt a little bit, because a small change can have consequences on riding. So we will have to change, especially because we will have new tyres. This is the biggest difference in terms of riding.
“We have been used to the Michelin for so many years, and we will move to Pirelli. Both tyres are fantastic, but they are different. So we need to adapt. But a smaller engine will take a bit of time to understand very well, when it comes to braking, acceleration, and how it feels under the bike.
“The riding will change a bit, but it will be the same for everyone. It’s a matter of adapting quickly and trying to find the best setting. But it’s difficult to say because it’s very early.
“Power delivery, no, because we’re used to having a lot of power in the bike. It will be powerful. But we can try to handle this. I think the biggest difference will be the tyres. Because that’s what really gives us the feedback.
“We feel a lot with how the tyre is working on the tarmac, the track, on the bumps and everything. I think this will be the main difference. I think it’s a combination between all the changes, and it will be difficult to predict which one will be the most difficult. I think it will be the tyres. But at the end, we will see.”

What impact will Pirelli’s plan have on MotoGP in 2027?
Toprak Razgatlioglu has significant edge in Pirelli experience over other riders
No one will be hoping for Bezzecchi’s prediction to come true more than Razgatlioglu. During his eight-year stint in Superbike racing, Razgatlioglu worked exclusively with Pirelli tyres.
Razgatlioglu won three Superbike world championships and finished second in two seasons. He wouldn’t have attained this level of success without understanding how the Pirelli tyres work.
There is no doubt that Razgatlioglu will be pivotal to MotoGP’s adoption of Pirelli tyres, as he is the rider with the most experience working with them.
While Pirelli don’t see Toprak having a major advantage due to his experience, it’s hard to overlook his success and mastery of Pirelli tyres ahead of the 2027 season.
