Ducati chief Davide Tardozzi has addressed the rumours that Gresini are negotiating with Honda to run their bikes from 2027.
Satellite teams are looking to renew or sign contracts with manufacturers, with current deals expiring in 2026. Rumours have already been rife about potential switches, with VR46 set to re-sign with Ducati amid links to Aprilia.
Gresini have been a Ducati satellite team since 2022 and enjoyed their best finish in MotoGP last year with second in the riders’ and teams’ championship. However, reports are now suggesting that Nadia Padovani’s team could be off to Honda.

Ducati boss Tardozzi addressed the rumours to Sky Italia after the Brazilian Grand Prix. He insists that Gresini ‘want to stay’ in Borgo Panigale.
“We don’t want to lose them,” he said. “They’re an excellent team, we’ll do everything we can to keep them with us, and I think they want to stay with Ducati.”

Davide Tardozzi assesses Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia’s frustrating race in Goiania
Tardozzi also gave his verdict on the Brazilian GP, which saw Aprilia dominate the field again. Marco Bezzecchi clinched the win over teammate Jorge Martin, with Fabio Di Giannantonio, once again, being the highest-placed Ducati in third.
Marc Marquez missed out on a podium in fourth, while Francesco Bagnaia crashed out. Tardozzi gave Aprilia credit for the result as he assessed his riders’ weekend.
“In terms of results, we’d like to react from Austin, not Jerez. Aprilia deserves credit for working well and having two very fit riders,” he added.
“Marquez has never complained; if he says he’s not 100%, it means he’s lacking something; Bagnaia wasn’t feeling his best today, but he showed important signs both in testing and in the first two races.”
