Marco Bezzecchi beat Aprilia teammate Jorge Martin to win the 2026 Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, securing the first one-two in the Italian constructor’s premier class history.
MotoGP returned to Brazilian soil for the first time since 2004 this weekend, and it was Marco Bezzecchi who felt the admiration of the local fans in Goiania as he took the chequered flag over three seconds ahead of Jorge Martin for his second consecutive win of the season.
Bezzecchi began Grand Prix Sunday by setting the fastest time of the warm-up, clocking in a time just four tenths off of Fabio Di Giannantonio’s pole position benchmark in Saturday’s qualifying session.
Other than Marc Marquez’s feat in the Sprint race, a sinkhole that appeared on the main pit straight stole the headlines. Fortunately, the issue was suitably rectified at the time, and it played no part in the proceedings in Goiania this afternoon.
However, minutes before the start of the race, it was announced that eight laps would be cut from the initially proposed 31-lap Grand Prix due to concerns over the amount of tyre degradation that riders would experience in the scorching hot conditions.

Marco Bezzecchi wins the Brazilian Grand Prix ahead of Jorge Martin
It was Bezzecchi who got the best start off the line out of the frontrunners, snatching the lead from the pole-sitter at turn one. Marquez withstood some pressure from Jorge Martin in the opening corners of the race before setting his sights on Di Giannantonio ahead.
The two Ducati riders, on equal factory machinery, duelled for several laps, with Martin benefiting from their scrap to slot himself into P2 behind Bezzecchi to set up a one-two for Aprilia.
The Italian rider had already stretched out a nearly second gap to his teammate at that point, and Marquez regathered his thoughts as he lurked behind Di Giannantonio and awaited a mistake from the VR46 star.
Aprilia take the headlines, but who was your biggest surprise at the Brazilian Grand Prix?

Francesco Bagnaia’s Grand Prix went from bad to worse on lap 11, crashing out of his own accord as he struggled for pace. The #63 was the penultimate Ducati rider in the pecking order at the time, with Fermin Aldeguer occupying P8 at the time on his return from injury.
Marquez finally found his opportunity with five laps to go, but it was quickly answered back by Di Giannantonio just two laps later. The Spaniard made a mistake, opening the door for the Italian rider to secure Ducati’s first podium in 2026.
