Ducati produced a record-breaking season in 2025 as Marc Marquez guided the team to another clean sweep in MotoGP.

While the Borgo Panigale manufacturer lost Pramac to Yamaha and their arsenal went from eight bikes to six, they still had the riders and machines to dominate the title. Ducati signed Marquez over Jorge Martin, as the Ant of Cervera looked to become a world champion again on the best bike.

Would the factory Ducati team have won the 2025 MotoGP title without Marc Marquez?

It turned out to be a masterstroke from Ducati as Marquez claimed 25 wins, including Sprints, across the season, wrapping up the title by Motegi. Marquez missed the final four races through injury, but the job was already done, having led the team to all three titles in 2025.

Ducati finished 350 points ahead of Aprilia in the constructors’ championship and locked out the top three in the teams’ standings, with the factory team leading Gresini from VR46. Ducati only scored two points after Marquez’s injury as Francesco Bagnaia struggled immensely on the GP25.

Luigi Dall’Igna highlights winning four consecutive titles with three riders as Ducati’s most ‘important’ record

Bagnaia could not secure P3 in the standings for Ducati with his torrid end to the season. But Ducati still had at least one rider on every podium in 2025, and the Marquez brothers finished first and second in the championship, making MotoGP history.

It was one of many records the Borgo Panigale outfit secured in 2025. They grabbed their sixth consecutive constructors’ championship, maintaining their dominance over the field.

2025 also marked Ducati’s third clean sweep in their history, clinching all three championships. Casey Stoner and Bagnaia led the factory to the feat in 2007 and 2022 respectively.

But the record that stands out to Luigi Dall’Igna the most is winning four consecutive championships with three different riders. It is a first for MotoGP, and the Ducati chief says this one is the most important.

He said via Moto. It: “But I would say four driver titles in a row with three different drivers. It’s definitely something for an engineer. I would say it’s something important. Yes, something I will enjoy remembering in the future.”

What records can Marc Marquez break in 2026?

With his 2025 title, Marquez has equalled Valentino Rossi’s record of seven MotoGP titles and ninth Grand Prix championships. Ducati are set to have the fastest bike in 2026, making the Spaniard the favourite to win again.

It will make the Ant of Cervera the most successful rider of the MotoGP era. However, Jorge Lorenzo doesn’t think Marquez will equal Giacomo Agostini, who has 15 titles to his name.

Marquez failed to beat his 2014 record with Honda in 2025, currently standing at 13 race wins in a season. Given the pace of the Ducati, that will definitely be achievable in 2026.

The 32-year-old had 11 Grand Prix wins up until his accident at Mandalika, which ended his season prematurely. Had he not been injured, that record would likely have been broken.
