Luigi Dall’Igna has praised Marc Marquez after he delivered the ‘masterpiece’ Ducati have been yearning for at the Czech Grand Prix.

On Sunday, Marquez won the Czech Grand Prix in Brno as he took the chequered flag ahead of Ai Ogura and Francesco Bagnaia.

The Spaniard has now secured back-to-back victories following his latest injury return, having won the Hungarian Grand Prix earlier in the month.

Marquez is now firmly back in the title race, especially after Marco Bezzecchi was banned from the Czech Grand Prix on the back of hitting a trackside marshal in the face.

Following Marquez’s victory, the gap between him and Bezzecchi has now been reduced to just 40 points.

Luigi Dall’Igna praises Marc Marquez’s strategy for Czech GP ‘masterpiece’

Taking to LinkedIn, Ducati general manager Dall’Igna was full of praise for Marquez, stating he delivered the ‘masterpiece’ that the team had been ‘waiting for’.

The 59-year-old stated that Marquez again proved that he is a champion as he raced with sagacity and strategy.

Dall’Igna also highlighted Marquez’s ability to control his pace and make his move at the perfect time.

Dall’Igna wrote: “A perfect race, a splendid win. Simply, a wonderful weekend. This win in Brno was gratifying and important, and just as noteworthy was Pecco’s third spot in a finishing order where four of our bikes ended in the top six positions.

“After Saturday’s Sprint win, another great joy for us and our riders: both rode Brno like veritable lions, proving to be the champions we’re absolutely proud of.

“Marquez triumphed with sagacity, strategy and the pace of who well knows when and how to manage the race, waiting to strike the decisive blow.

“A test of strength during which he imposed himself with an authority that cannot be matched, the same determination shown by Pecco until halfway through the race, before having to accept the final dip in performance.

“It’s the Marc-masterpiece we’ve been waiting for! Yes, it was important to win again, and to win here, on a complete and demanding track, physically putting him to the test and confirming our good progress with the bike set-up.”

How big a failure would it be if Aprilia lose the 2026 title to Marc Marquez from here?

Aside from Marquez, Bagnaia also enjoyed a brilliant weekend in Brno as he won the Sprint before finishing P3 in the Grand Prix.

Bagnaia’s Sprint victory drew praise from Marquez, who admitted that it was ‘practically impossible to overtake’ him due to the Italian’s ability to defend his position.

Meanwhile, Dall’Igna said Bagnaia was ‘fabulous, equally determined and generous’.

He wrote: “Pecco was just as fabulous, equally determined and generous. He fought tooth and nail to the end, like a number one contender, at first vying for victory and then holding on to third spot, still on the podium, now the fourth consecutive.

“Having won the Sprint Race is the feather in the cap of a weekend that demonstrates how fruitful the path taken has proven: another step towards finding the right feeling with the bike in a performance consistency that boosts the team’s confidence and morale.”
