Ducati director Mauro Grassilli has seemingly ruled Jack Miller out of joining their World Superbikes team. They want an Italian to replace Nicolo Bulega if he leaves for MotoGP.
The Australian rider’s options for 2027 are dwindling, with Pramac eyeing Moto2 star Izan Guevara for a seat alongside Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Miller is likely to lose his seat, and the number of seats on the MotoGP grid is rapidly filling. Recently, it was reported that Trackhouse will sign Luca Marini and Enea Bastianini, closing another door for the 31-year-old.

With a MotoGP exit looking likely, Ducati’s World Superbike team could be Miller’s most likely destination. He has a strong relationship with the Borgo Panigale outfit from his time with them in MotoGP.
A seat could be set to open up at Ducati, as championship leader Nicolo Bulega is being heavily linked with VR46 for 2027. Valentino Rossi has him on his shortlist of riders to partner with Fermin Aldeguer next year,

Bulega’s WSBK team, Iker Lecuona, is likely to stay in 2027, meaning a replacement will be needed for the Italian. Miller could well be in contention, but Grassilli has suggested that he is not a top priority.
He explained to GPOne that, should Bulega join VR46 in 2027, Ducati would like to replace him with an Italian rider. Naturally, that takes Miller out of the equation.

Asked who could replace Bulega next year, Grassilli replied: “The aim, of course, is – as Stefano has said on other occasions, he has said it before…
“The aim is to try and keep Iker on board and then, naturally, to consider that he might eventually be a rider who could replace Nicolò if Nicolò were to move to another category.
“Our wish is to have an Italian rider. Well, I’ll stop there because, in reality, we’re still at a fairly crucial stage, at least as far as the current situation is concerned. Well, when the time comes, I might have more information to give you.”
