With his age and injury issues, many within Marc Marquez’s inner circle have suggested he retire from MotoGP.
Marquez claimed his 100th MotoGP win at Hungary in a stellar performance just weeks after undergoing shoulder surgery.
However, there were signs during the weekend that Marquez’s shoulder is still not fully healed, and he is still struggling to ride pain-free.
Of all 100 of Marc Marquez’s victories, which one is his BEST?
Prior to his recovery and return, there was a lot of talk about Marquez possibly retiring from MotoGP due to his injury issues.
However, when urged by those within his inner circle to call time on his legendary career, Marc Marquez offers just three words as a response.

Marc Marquez has ‘one more’ response when urged by his inner circle to retire from MotoGP
Speaking with Nico Abad, MotoGP insider Mela Chercoles spoke about Marc Marquez’s win at the Hungarian Grand Prix and what it means for his future.
There are those within Marquez’s inner circle, including his assistant, who have suggested that he retire from MotoGP. In response, Marquez continuously asks for one more opportunity.
“Jose Luis Martinez, Marc’s assistant, has suggested he call it quits: ‘Dude, let’s go, you don’t need to keep going.’
“Do you know what Marc says when someone suggests he retire? ‘Give me one more bullet. One more bullet, man. One more bullet.’
“Now I truly believe, after speaking to Marc and Jose, that if Marc ever gets injured, which I hope doesn’t happen, he will retire. He is done. He is fed up.”

Marc Marquez’s recovery process takes mental toll on him
Speaking further on the matter, Chercoles shared how Marquez recovers from injuries on the mental front, with the process demanding a lot of him.
“He is physically and especially emotionally tired of recovering. This is his eighth return from injury. It was amazing how he told us, after winning on Sunday… The last thing he says to the journalists before celebrating with the team:
“‘When I come back from an injury, the first week I’m in a dark room. Everything is black. So what I do is sit alone on a swing, looking at my house, and I start thinking about what I need to be happy and come back.’
“He organises everything and clears his head to know what he needs to do to get out of the hole he is in. He gets to work and gets out. He’s climbed out of the hole eight times. It’s amazing.”
The process Marquez has to undergo to recover mentally from his injuries sounds completely draining, and it makes sense why Chercoles doesn’t expect him to return from another injury should he get hurt again.
Despite Marquez’s entourage expecting success in Hungary, it is clear that the Spanish legend is still not fully fit and is going to need more time.
Marquez admitted his recovery will take a long time, but he is still willing to race and try and compete for the world championship.
