Trackhouse are third in the teams’ standings after three races in what has been a brilliant start to the year. But come 2027, it could be all change, as Ogura is set to join Yamaha.

The Japanese rider will partner with Jorge Martin in 2027. Ogura’s Yamaha move has not sat well with Honda, given his connections to the team, and Trackhouse now have to delve into the MotoGP rider market.

Yamaha star Izan Guevara is a target for Trackhouse

According to a report from Moto.it, Yamaha star Guevara has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the Trackhouse team. The Moto2 star is eyeing a move to MotoGP in 2027.

Sitting second in the standings after the first three races of the season, Guevara is ‘practically certain’ to join MotoGP in 2027. Racing for the Pramac Yamaha team in the intermediate class, many would presume that he will join their premier class squad.

Yamaha view Guevara as another Fabio Quartararo, highlighting how highly the Iwata outfit rate him. With Martin and Ogura joining the factory team and with Jack Miller out of contract at Pramac, the Spaniard will be a top candidate to partner with Toprak Razgatlioglu.

However, Trackhouse are another option for Guevara to consider. With Aprilia bikes, the American team are an attractive option for the Moto2 rider.

Raul Fernandez’s future is in doubt, but with his 2026 teammate off to Yamaha, his chances of staying with Trackhouse will be far more likely. Besides Guevara, the team do have other riders in mind.

Joan Mir has been linked with Trackhouse as Honda look set to sign Quartararo and David Alonso. KTM’s Enea Bastianini is also considered an option, but Gresini seems like the most likely destination.

Guevara’s Moto2 rival, Celestino Vietti, is also an option, while WSBK star Nicolo Bulega could also join Trackhouse. With Ducati not having many spots available for the Italian, he could have to leave the Borgo Panigale outfit to get to MotoGP.
