Toprak Razgatlioglu is looking to fight Marc Marquez in MotoGP, but he knows that he is in for a tough rookie season with Pramac Yamaha.
The Turkish rider will make his long-awaited move to MotoGP in 2026, signing with the Yamaha satellite team. Partnering with Jack Miller, he has a great team and support network around him at Pramac.
Initially, Razgatlioglu was not interested in joining a Yamaha satellite team, having had offers back in 2022. But his opinion has changed ahead of 2026, presumably after seeing Pramac’s success in recent years with Ducati and Jorge Martin.
Should MotoGP riders be afraid of Toprak Razgatlioglu?
Toprak's record in WSBK
However, the three-time WSBK champion knows he will have a tough start to life in MotoGP, as he has to get accustomed to the team’s V4 bike and Michelin tyres. Razgatlioglu expects to emulate Nicolo Bulega in his early races – his WSBK rival finished 15th in two races at the end of 2025 with Ducati.
But eventually, the Turkish rider will want to make progress in the premier class and move up to the factory Yamaha team. At present, that is highly unlikely with his contract situation, but that could all change thanks to Red Bull and Marquez.

Red Bull’s ‘dream’ plan for Marc Marquez at Ducati could open the door for Toprak Razgatlioglu to join Yamaha
Razgatlioglu has the same contractual issue as Marquez faced at Honda, as he is a Red Bull athlete. With Yamaha being backed by rivals Monster, a move to the factory team could be blocked – Marquez had to leave Red Bull when he signed with Gresini in 2024.
It has been reported that Red Bull want to leave KTM after three decades of working together, amid frustrations over their lack of success and financial woes. They could look to join Ducati or Honda, as per a report from GPOne.
Red Bull are plotting a ‘dream team’ at Ducati with Marquez and Pedro Acosta, who is being heavily linked with the Borgo Panigale outfit. A reunion between the energy drinks company and the Spaniard could open the door for future moves, specifically, Razgatlioglu.
In 2025, Red Bull had the KTM riders, Johann Zarco, Miguel Oliveira, Alex Marquez, Dani Pedrosa, Pol Espargaro and Martin on their books, with the Pramac rider and Diogo Moreira joining in 2026.
If Marc Marquez were to return to Red Bull amid their plans for Ducati, it could allow Razgatlioglu to seek a way out and earn a promotion to the factory Yamaha team. If he wants the seat next to Fabio Quartararo, provided he stays beyond 2026, he has the issue of Monster to deal with.

How successful will Toprak Razgatlioglu be at Pramac in 2026?
The future could be exciting for Razgatlioglu in MotoGP. However, his rookie season will be far from plain sailing, given the changes he has to go through.
Razgatlioglu admits he is ‘stressed’ ahead of his debut because he knows that all the attention will be on him. People will be expecting him to perform immediately, given his incredible talent, but the reality is that he has a lot of learning to do.
Razgatlioglu is happy with the V4 after testing it in private and at the post-season test in Valencia. Naturally, the bike will need more development throughout the season, but the 29-year-old seems encouraged by its early state.
He is realistic about his 2026 campaign, knowing that points finishes could be hard to come by. But he has ambitious targets for the future, with Razgatlioglu aiming to challenge Marquez by 2027.
