Toprak Razgatlioglu is just under three months away from being able to make his official MotoGP debut for Yamaha.

The three-time World Superbike champion is making his dream switch to the premier class, a few years on from his first taste of it in a one-off test.

There is a lot of buzz and excitement around what Razgatlioglu could potentially achieve with Pramac when Yamaha starts to get their bike right.

Does Christian Gonschor have a point about BMW’s successes with Toprak Razgatlioglu?

“Of course, it helps a little if you have the number 1 bike. If you’ve won two world championships, then there’s potential. When you achieve 13 consecutive victories, that’s a winning package.”

He’s one of the few who won’t have to worry about the MotoGP rider market for 2027, since he signed a multi-year deal. He can focus on building his speed gradually.

Jack Miller is already helping Razgatlioglu, and having an experienced teammate is only going to be helpful for him as he makes the switch.

There wasn’t much that could be done to stop Razgatlioglu from being ‘nervous’ on debut at Valencia last month, as he got his first taste of the new V4 engine.

Toprak Razgatlioglu is stressed about all the eyes on him ahead of his 2026 MotoGP debut

Yamaha could pair Razgatlioglu and Francesco Bagnaia in 2027, meaning that they will have an all-new line-up.

That promotion depends on how well the 29-year-old adjusts to a new bike next season, which demands a completely different riding style.

Neil Hodgson thinks Razgatlioglu signed for the ‘wrong manufacturer’, given they just finished bottom of the manufacturers’ standings.

Speaking to Motosan at the FIM post-season gala, he just revealed how stressed he is ahead of making his debut for Pramac.

“For 2026, I don’t know what to expect,’ he said. “Whether I’m going to get a podium or not. It’s very hard. MotoGP competition is even more difficult… maybe in 2027 we will have an opportunity there.

“I feel a little stress, all eyes are on me. It’s easier for me to ride the bike than to be talking here. The last race was very difficult after the fall, but I got the title again. I will miss Superbikes, but I will follow my dream.”

When can Toprak Razgatlioglu be expected to deliver MotoGP success?

Expecting Razgatlioglu to deliver success immediately would be both short-sighted and unrealistic. He’s going to need some time.

Razgatlioglu’s manager thinks he’ll ‘surprise’ the grid with his performances over the next 12 months, helped by his adaptability and skills with the front end.

If he can navigate 2026 successfully and without injury, he’ll be setting himself up well for the future. It’s about building a foundation.

Razgatlioglu could have a ‘major’ advantage in 2027 when MotoGP switches to the Pirelli tyres, which he has enjoyed a lot of success on recently. He’ll have had the best preparation of anyone.
