Jorge Martin has steadily been building both his speed and confidence again since returning to Aprilia before the summer break.

The reigning MotoGP champion’s focus will now turn to preparing for 2026, as the field looks to find a way to stop Marc Marquez’s dominance.

Aprilia have been one of the most impressive teams recently, and have come a long way since the start of the season.

Now that they have their superstar rider back, they can really start to develop their bike further, with the hope that both Martin and Marco Bezzecchi can compete for victories next year.

Martin has realised an Aprilia ‘truth’ which makes his life a little more difficult in qualifying. The harder he pushes the RS-GP, the worse it becomes.

However, Bezzecchi is in awe of Martin and the level of effort he has put in behind the scenes to find improvements already. He has been very impressive.

Jorge Martin’s mother is proud of his ‘tireless’ work at Aprilia in 2025

Martin ‘broke down’ after his season-best result at Balaton Park just a few weeks ago, and was super impressive in race trim.

Despite starting down in 16th, he fought through the field to fourth and refused to give up, despite having a tough start to the weekend.

It’s his defiance which has led his mother to privately inform Spanish journalist Mela Chercoles that she is proud of his ‘tireless’ efforts at his new team.

“Jorge’s mother, excited. For the performance her son had put on. Look, Susana, will you give me permission? Well, I’m going to read it,” he said.

“In addition to sending me a couple of Martinator arriving at the box, where they were hugging each other. With Bezzecchi at the podium, they were hugging Martin, and there were reasons for it.

“Starting with Rivola, Rivola was going to tell you he went to look for him. First, there was one who gives him a pat. The hug with his father, too. It’s normal, it’s understandable,” Chercoles continued.

“Look at Susana’s message at 12.49 am on Sunday night. ‘How great he is, what a tireless fighter. What a proud son. Hearts and a couple of videos.’ Look what I sent back to her, I couldn’t help but applaud and give a thumbs up.”

Jorge Martin has ‘realised’ what Aprilia’s big ‘problem’ is already

With eight races to go this season, Martin may now harbour hopes of a first Aprilia podium before the end of 2025.

He finished just over three seconds shy of his teammate in Hungary, and now heads home to the site where he claimed his first title last year in Barcelona next.

Martin has ‘realised’ Aprilia’s big ‘problem’, but has time to figure out a fix before the stakes are raised once again in 2026.

If the Spaniard finishes the season well, there’s still a chance that he can make a push for the top 12 in the standings, which would be an exceptional recovery.
