Marc Marquez looks set to cruise to his seventh MotoGP title in 2025 as he enters the summer break with eight wins out of a possible 12.

Marquez has been the best rider in 2025 so far by some considerable distance. With 19 wins out of 24 races, including Sprints, the Ducati rider leads the championship by a staggering 120 points.

The Spaniard claimed his fifth consecutive win at the Czech Grand Prix last weekend, marking the first Ducati rider to do so in MotoGP. His pace on the GP25 was electrifying as he got the better of polesitter and teammate Francesco Bagnaia and fended off Marco Bezzecchi for the win.

He was in control of the race to the extent that Marquez had to ‘entertain himself’ during the event. He was seen constantly doing time attacks to beat his personal best time in order to keep himself free from any mistakes.

Crashes at COTA and Jerez have prevented his lead in the championship from being even more daunting. Marquez has snuffed out those mistakes in recent races as he gives himself and Ducati a comfortable lead heading into the second half of the season.

Marc Marquez’s dominance in 2025 shows Luigi Dall’Igna why Ducati have struggled to win championships

Ducati are in a strong position to claim another championship in MotoGP in 2025. The manufacturer have come a long way in the premier class after years of dominance from Japanese outfits Yamaha and Honda.

The Borgo Panigale outfit have only had three championship wins in MotoGP, with Casey Stoner claiming the first in 2007. Andrea Dovizioso finished second three years in a row between 2017 and 2019, before Bagnaia secured Ducati two titles in 2022 and 2023.

Ducati have won four teams’ championships in the premier class (2007, 2021, 2022 and 2024). Despite claiming the win last season as a team, Bagnaia could not defend his crown as they lost to Jorge Martin, who became the first satellite rider of the modern era to win the title.

Now in 2025, the factory outfit look almost guaranteed to walk away with both titles and in convincing fashion, courtesy of Marquez. After his win at Brno, Luigi Dall’Igna came to a realisation in the Ducati garage about how they have ‘struggled’ in the past.

In a behind-the-scenes video from Ducati, Dall’Igna told Marquez: “Anyway, I already knew that, but now I understand better… why we’ve struggled to win a championship so far!” The signing of the Spaniard has been just what they need to claim more titles.

When will Marc Marquez win the 2025 MotoGP title?

With such a commanding lead over his rivals, many are already making their predictions as to when Marquez will claim the title.

Brother Alex Marquez thinks he is out of the title picture after his crash with Joan Mir at Brno. He says it would be ‘magical’ to finish in second with Gresini, as he currently sits 48 points ahead of factory rider Bagnaia.

It is plausible that Marquez could win the title at Misano; the home circuit of his nemesis Valentino Rossi. When asked the question, Marquez refused to answer after winning at Rossi’s ‘home’, as he is focused on maintaining his lead in the standings.

The 32-year-old’s rivals will certainly be looking to make a step forward after the summer break and mount a challenge. Carlo Pernat thinks Bezzecchi can cause Marquez problems more than Bagnaia, having led Aprilia close to competing with the Ducatis.
