Jack Miller bagged his best result as a Pramac rider at the Grand Prix of the Americas on Sunday. Miller picked up 11 points by steering the Yamaha motorcycle to fifth place.
That more than doubled his tally for the MotoGP season to date after prior finishes of 11th, 11th, 13th and 14th. What’s more, it matches Miller’s best result during his final year at KTM.
The 30-year-old started ninth but once again proved he was a specialist in tricky conditions. Pole-sitter Marc Marquez was caught out, as was Pedro Acosta (third on the grid) and Joan Mir (eighth).

Gresini rider Fermin Aldeguer was charging through the pack before he too crashed out. Miller was the lead Yamaha as Fabio Quartararo finished 10th.
It was a strong day overall for Pramac as stand-in rider Augusto Fernandez contributed three points. Fernandez was deputising for the injured Miguel Oliveira.
Sylvain Guintoli says Jack Miller smiled when he saw the Americas Grand Prix conditions
Speaking live on TNT Sports before the Americas Grand Prix, pundit Sylvain Guintoli predicted that Miller would thrive. He explained that the four-time premier-class winner was among the best at generating temperature in slick tyres on a damp circuit.
Guintoli noticed that Miller smiled when he came out of the Pramac pit garage to take a look at the track conditions. Where other riders may have been nervous, he seemed composed.

“Who’s good at [activating the slicks] by the way?” Guintoli said. “Jack Miller. I saw him smile actually. He came and had a look at the track and he was smiling. He looked really relaxed.”
‘Not many riders in the world’ can do what Jack Miller did in Austin
The classy Miller was praised by MotoGP fans pre-race for helping Quartararo. His Yamaha stablemate crashed on the sighting lap – a sign of just how difficult the conditions were.
Miller gave Quartararo a push to help him get back going. He’s now three points above him in the championship, and while it’s early in the season, this certainly subverts expectations.
It’s worth remembering that Miller is out of contract at the end of 2025, having secured the final spot on the grid. As it stands, he surely merits an extension.
Michael Laverty raved about the ‘exceptional’ Miller during Friday practice. ‘Not many riders in the world’ can look so comfortable with dry tyres on a wet track.
