Ducati are looking to continue their dominance in MotoGP in 2025 after winning all but one race in 2024.
Only Maverick Vinales at Austin for Aprilia stopped the Bologna-based manufacturer from claiming victory at every race. Factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia claimed 11 of those victories.
However, the two-time champion missed out on the title to Jorge Martin by 10 points, who became the first independent title rider to win the championship with Pramac.
The Italian’s three retirements across the season ultimately cost him as his title rival’s consistency gave him the advantage. Bagnaia admitted to thinking about his mistakes during his honeymoon as he could not shake losing the title.
The 28-year-old will have to be focused in 2025 as he goes up against Marc Marquez at the factory Ducati team. The six-time champion joins from satellite team Gresini after snubbing Martin of the seat.
And speaking with Marca, Marquez liked what he saw from Ducati general manager Luigi Dall’Igna and how he handled the title battle between Martin and Bagnaia.

Marc Marquez loved how honest Gigi Dall’igna was with Ducati riders during 2024 title fight
Martin winning the 2024 title was ‘complicated’ by Gigi Dall’Igna’s admission, as Ducati’s sponsors view the factory team as ‘more important’. After all, they pay to be affiliated with the brand and therefore want the main team to succeed.
But it was always in Dall’Igna’s philosophy to allow the satellite teams to fight for the championship. Despite talks Martin would not be allowed to win as he was leaving Ducati for Aprilia, the Spaniard was given equal machinery to Bagnaia.

And new Ducati recruit Marquez loved Dall’Igna’s honesty during the battle for the title: “No, because, and it was shown last year, Gigi Dall’Igna is very honest about that, and last year there was talk that they wouldn’t let Martín win because he was leaving”, he said.
“He had the same weapons as Pecco until the last moment, and this is the good thing and what I like about Gigi Dall’Igna, that he is very honest.
“I think it is also the key to the success he has had in all his projects, because he is honest with the riders, he is honest with the team, and if he tells you you will have this, you will have this”.

Ducati now have a ‘huge responsibility’ after signing Marc Marquez
Ducati will have completely new components on their 2025 bike as they look to continue their dominance and regain the riders’ championship. The team unveiled this season’s challenger on Monday.
Fans are excited to see Marquez dressed in red as he becomes a factory Ducati rider. The Spaniard is in the best possible position to fight for the title in 2025 since leaving Honda.
But Ducati now have a ‘huge responsibility’ to give Marquez and Bagnaia a competitive bike. With arguably the strongest rider pairing on the grid in 2025, the team have to capitalise.
The battle between the two factory Ducati riders is set to be the most exciting of the 2025 MotoGP season. Marquez will be eager to stamp his authority early and get the edge over his teammate.
