A move to World Superbikes in 2027 is looking increasingly likely for Brad Binder, but he has made his intentions clear – he wants to ride a Ducati.
Binder looks to be out of KTM for the 2027 MotoGP season, with Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio joining the factory team. The South African is no longer being considered for a seat with Tech3, which all but confirms his exit from the sport.
World Superbikes is his strongest alternative, and he has expressed an interest in joining the paddock in 2027. Multiple moves have already been touted for the 30-year-old, but Binder’s preference has already been made clear.

Brad Binder wants to ride a Ducati in WSBK
Recently, Binder has been linked with a move to BMW for 2027. Pramac rider Toprak Razgatlioglu won two WSBK titles with the team in 2024 and 2025, and his former crew chief, Phil Marron, now works with Binder at KTM.
However, it is believed that BMW would prefer to sign Moto2’s Manu Gonzalez over Binder. The Spaniard is pushing for a move to WSBK after missing out on a MotoGP seat multiple times.

MotoGP fans think BMW should sign Binder, but the German manufacturer would not be his first choice. According to journalist Rosario Triolo, the South African wants to ride a Ducati.
He discussed on his YouTube channel: “The last rider left from MotoGP is Brad Binder. Of those I haven’t mentioned, he’s the only one remaining. Brad Binder has, however, already made one thing very clear: ‘I’m thinking of moving to Superbike, but on a Ducati.’
“So Binder effectively wants a Ducati. Which Ducati might Binder end up with? Certainly, a satellite team bike is the easiest solution for Binder.”

Ducati have nine bikes for seven teams in WSBK, five of which only operate one bike on the grid. Triolo says that the Marc VDS team are considering using two bikes in 2027 alongside Sam Lowes, and they have had contact with Binder in the past.
He continued: “And if I really have to think of a satellite team, I believe Binder might have a chance if they fielded two bikes – as they’ve been rumoured to be doing for years now – in the Marc VDS team.
“Because, after all, Binder’s people have already had contacts and contracts with Marc VDS for other riders in the past, so who knows – the right bike for Binder might well be the VDS-branded Ducati. The second, should they field another one alongside Sam Lowes’ bike.”
