Jack Miller has been praised for his response after reportedly losing his MotoGP seat with Pramac Yamaha.

While Yamaha have only confirmed their factory line-up plans at the moment, it’s widely believed that Moto2 rider Izan Guevara, already on their books, will replace Miller next year.

In fact, Miller’s future lies in World Superbikes rather than MotoGP, with a report on Saturday suggesting he will represent Yamaha in the sister series next year instead.

Does Jack Miller still have the talent to fight further up the grid?

Neil Hodgson loves Jack Miller’s ‘impressive’ reaction to losing Pramac MotoGP seat

According to TNT Sports pundit Neil Hodgson, Miller’s impending departure is an open secret in the paddock, but that has not changed the rider’s motivation.

The Australian made just his third Q2 appearance of the season at the German Grand Prix on Saturday and finished 12th in the main race, comfortably ahead of factory rider Alex Rins and teammate Toprak Razgatlioglu.

After acting as a spokesman for the V4 project, Miller has been critical of his Yamaha bike lately, but that doesn’t mean his commitment has wavered.

Hodgson said (12/07, 13:09): “What’s impressive with Jack is, we know he’s out of a ride for next year in this paddock, but he’s not moaned, he’s not given up, he’s not said, ‘There’s no point.’

“He’s just got on with it… maximum commitment, always.”

One could perhaps draw a contrast with Tech3 rider Maverick Vinales, who says he is losing his seat at the end of the season.

Vinales had a dire weekend at the Sachsenring, finishing last by eight seconds in the Sprint then retiring from the Grand Prix. While lingering fitness issues may be playing a part, questions are also being asked about his commitment to the project.

Vinales, Miller and German GP winner Marc Marquez are the only riders on the grid with 200 or more race starts.
