Jack Miller has blasted Yamaha’s MotoGP bike, labelling the 2026-spec M1 prototype as “a joke” following a “brutal” weekend in Assen for the Dutch Grand Prix.

The Pramac rider was left fuming with Yamaha after the conclusion of the race weekend in Assen, with his weekend being marred by issues that continue to baffle engineers from the Japanese constructor.

Miller’s Sprint race ended after just five laps following a failure in his rear brake bracket, and, despite snatching four points through his P12 finish, took the chequered flag nearly 40 seconds adrift of the front runners.

In particular, the Australian struggled in the high-speed direction changes, labelling Yamaha’s M1 prototype “a joke” as it continues to be the most unrideable bike on the entire MotoGP grid.

During his words to the press following the chequered flag in Assen, Miller refused to mince his words as he highlighted how he “never felt comfortable” atop his Pramac-Yamaha on the right-hand turns.

Does Jack Miller still have the talent to fight further up the grid?

In his immediate assessment of the race, the 31-year-old said via Motosan, “It was okay. I never really felt comfortable on the right side. From start to finish, it wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t terrible either. It just held steady.

“I knew I couldn’t push it [the Yamaha], I couldn’t do anything with it, to be honest. I had nothing on the right side. The left side was fine and I could fight with the guys around me. But, well, we managed to bring it home.”

Miller then pointed towards the high-speed direction changes at the Assen circuit being the “worst” on the MotoGP calendar, even more so than his home race at Phillip Island.

“This place is probably the worst, without a doubt,” he continued. “I mean, Phillip Island has its fair share of twists and turns, but this one is pretty brutal. Especially with our bikes on a full tank. From turn 14 to 15 it was a real grind, and from 6 to 7 it was a joke.”

Jack Miller didn’t think his ‘chaotic’ battle with Toprak Razgatlioglu in Dutch GP would ‘end well’

Rival Franco Morbidelli slammed Miller for allegedly pushing him off the race track during a first-lap battle. When asked about the incident, Miller was unable to recall it, instead drawing attention to a battle with Pramac teammate Toprak Razgatlioglu.

“I didn’t have any trouble with Frankie until… I’d say lap four, or something like that,” he said. “But, yeah, the first lap is always chaotic. Toprak and I were wheel-to-wheel going into turn six, and I moved out of the way.

“I was on the inside, which became the outside at the next corner. And I thought, ‘this isn’t going to end well.’ The first lap here is always a bit frantic. Especially because they’re fast, linked corners.

“You don’t really know what the group in front of you is going to do, so you’re kind of trailing them. As I said, we came out of there unscathed.”
