Marc Marquez scored his 100th career Grand Prix win in the 2026 Hungarian GP, but it took the Spaniard a lot longer to reach triple-digits than his arch-rival Valentino Rossi.
Marquez recorded the perfect weekend at Balaton Park, as he became just the third rider in history to reach triple-digits for wins across all three of the world championship classes. The Spaniard joins Giacomo Agostini with 122 wins and Rossi on 115 wins in the exclusive group.
Agostini became the first rider to reach 100 wins with his victory in the 1972 Swedish 500cc Grand Prix at Anderstorp, in a trademark dominant ride for MV Agusta. Rossi took his 100th career win in the 2009 Dutch MotoGP Grand Prix at the TT Circuit Assen while with Yamaha.
Ducati got to celebrate Marquez’s 100th win in the 2026 Hungarian GP, as he converted pole position to also secure the Borgo Panigale brand their 100th MotoGP victory. The win added to Marquez’s 10 125cc victories, 16 Moto2 victories and 73 previous premier class race wins.

Rossi also took his 74 MotoGP wins in fewer seasons than Marquez needed, as he reached the figure seven races into his ninth year in the premier class. It took Marquez until his 14th year in MotoGP to reach 74 wins, having made his debut with Honda in the 2013 campaign.
All in all, those years even combined to see Marquez enter 74 more Grands Prix than Rossi started before scoring his 100th career race win. Rossi reached 100 career wins in a total of 217 races, while Marquez needed 291 races across all classes to reach triple-digits for wins.
Yet despite needing more races, Marquez was already a seven-time MotoGP champion and nine-time world champion by the time that he reached 100 career wins. The Spaniard took the 125cc title in his third year in 2010, and he won the 2012 Moto2 title in his second year.
Rossi reached 100 career wins en route to winning his seventh MotoGP title in 2009, which ultimately marked his final premier class crown. The Italian finished second in the 2014, ‘15 and ‘16 standings, but he never got his hands on the MotoGP championship trophy again.
