Tensions are reportedly simmering between Trackhouse and Aprilia despite their successful start to the 2026 MotoGP season.

Seven races into the 2026 campaign, Aprilia lead the way with 329 points, having won five races and secured 10 podium finishes.

Trackhouse, an Aprilia satellite team, are currently second with 179 points, having had two podium finishes in the opening seven rounds.

Last weekend, Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez won the Sprint ahead of Aprilia’s Jorge Martin and VR46 rider Fabio Di Giannantonio.

On Sunday, Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi won the Italian Grand Prix, with Martin second and Francesco Bagnaia third.

Tensions are ‘simmering’ between Trackhouse and Aprilia

Despite their brilliant start to the 2026 MotoGP campaign, it has been claimed that there are tensions between the two leading teams.

According to Speedweek, tensions are ‘simmering’ between Aprilia and Trackhouse.

It has been suggested that the ‘enthusiasm’ towards Davide Brivio has been ‘somewhat muted’ due to his imminent departure.

Brivio is set to join Honda ahead of the 2027 season in what has been described as a ‘key consulting’ role.

Away from Brivio, it has also been revealed that a meeting was held after Fernandez knocked Martin off his bike in Barcelona, with the former given a ‘frank explanation’ on how he should behave during close battles.

Following Saturday’s Sprint, it was suggested that Fernandez was not ‘particularly effervescent’ during his post-race interview.

The 25-year-old said: “I think it was the most beautiful and at the same time the most difficult moment of my racing career.

“In recent weeks, with everything you read and see, it’s ultimately hard to take in. You can see that the situation isn’t easy. After the sprint victory on Saturday, I cried for the entire last lap after the checkered flag.

“I know I’ll be riding for Trackhouse until the end of the year. The important thing is that we have fun and fight. I have my family and I’m at peace with myself after Saturday at Mugello.”
