Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez beat Jorge Martin to win the Sprint Race at the 2026 Italian Grand Prix, as championship leader Marco Bezzecchi struggled in P5.
Marco Bezzecchi led an Aprilia front row lockout after taking pole position on Saturday morning, but was unable to back up his record-breaking lap with a victory in the Sprint race.
As the lights went out to signal the start of the 11-lap Sprint race, Marc Marquez sprang into action, usurping the lead from the championship leader at turn one.
His lead lasted all of two corners, with Raul Fernandez and Jorge Martin muscling their way through the factory Ducati rider’s inside. By the end of the first lap, Marquez had fallen to P5, with Fabio Di Giannantonio and Diogo Moreira taking advantage.

Fernandez and Martin quickly stretched out a gap at the front of the pack, while Moreira aided their chances as he held up an in-form Di Giannantonio on his Honda. The Italian finally pounced on lap three, and set his sights on the Aprilias in front.
Enea Bastianini brought out yellow flags on lap five as he crashed out of the race at turn 10. The Italian was being hunted by factory KTM star Pedro Acosta, with the off handing the Murcian P8. Franco Morbidelli suffered the same fate on the following lap.
Fernandez pulled out nearly a second worth of time on Martin as they settled into the Sprint, not without a few twitchy moments, though. The Spaniard remained in the lead until the chequered flag, securing his first Sprint race win in MotoGP.
Di Giannantonio rounded out the podium finishers, while Bezzecchi and Marquez completed the top five, respectively.
