Marc Marquez has recalled the experience of watching Alex Marquez’s huge crash during the Catalan Grand Prix.
During the race in Barcelona, Alex was involved in a horrifying accident with Pedro Acosta’s KTM.
Alex ended up suffering multiple fractures and underwent surgery in a hospital in Barcelona on the evening of the crash before being discharged on Monday afternoon.
Looking ahead, Alex will miss this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix and then next week’s race in Hungary.
Alex’s brother, seven-time world champion Marc, was involved in a huge crash of his own during the French Grand Prix Sprint, which left him with a fractured foot.

Ahead of his return to the track this weekend, Marc was asked about his brother’s crash and the general safety of MotoGP.
The seven-time world champion admitted that he was left ‘frozen’ and ‘staring at the TV’ when Alex’s crash happened.
Marc said to DAZN Espana: “Well, imagine watching from home, everything was cut out. I was eating, well, I’d already finished eating before the race started.
“Obviously, when you see a crash like that, whoever the rider is, but especially if it’s your brother, I was frozen, I had a bad time in front of the TV.
“I was staring at the TV. I had a bad time, but oh well, these things happen in motorcycling, risks that all riders accept, and no matter how much the Safety Commission improves, there will always be this risk.
“Luckily, he’s okay, and I’m very happy. A rider from the world of motorcycling was very lucky, not only him, but also Zarco’s crash. It could have been a Sunday that everyone wanted to forget.”

Looking ahead to his own weekend, Marc stated that his expectations are low and his full focus is to get back to the ‘highest level’.
As per Motorsport, Marc said: “I’d love to think about a comeback, but I’m not in a position to make one. What I need to focus on is building my future.
“Getting back to feeling good, feeling like I can ride a MotoGP bike at the highest level, because the way I was doing at the start of this season was impossible.
“I know that if I can rebuild a decent physical condition, and I’m referring to my right arm, the speed will come.
“But if I think about the championship, all I’ll do is risk further injury. I have to be aware of where I am and where I want to go.
“I’m here because I believe I can complete the weekend. My shoulder needs time, but the doctors have told me it’s the right time to get back on the bike.”
