Alex Marquez and all riders are conscious after horrifying crash at Catalan GP
Within minutes, there were concerns about Alex Marquez’s safety. However, we received confirmation that Marquez and all other riders were conscious despite the crash.
This is the best possible news in this situation, as teams await a restart of the race from Lap 13. Enea Bastianini and Alex Marquez have been deemed ineligible for the restart.
The race will be restarted for 13 laps with grid positions being based on the standings as of Lap 11, which was the last completed lap.
One can imagine Acosta might not make his return, while Di Giannantonio’s participation in the restart is expected.
This was by far one of the scariest moments of the MotoGP season so far. But luckily, there seem to be no larger complications emerging from this.
Hopefully, the restart of the race can see a clean finish, with no such incidents like this or coming anywhere close to the nature of this collision.

Catalan Grand Prix sees second red flag after Johann Zarco, Luca Marini, and Francesco Bagnaia crash
With the race restarting after the terrifying crash, there was yet another incident involving Johann Zarco, Luca Marini, and Francesco Bagnaia that led to yet another red flag.
After the crash, Bagnaia was seen nursing his wrist, suggesting that he may have picked up a knock serious enough to rule him out of a possible restart.
It is rare for races to continue after two consecutive red flags, but MotoGP officials did discuss a possible second restart and agreed that the race will resume.
The race will continue for 12 laps, with grid positions being the same as they were at the first restart, based on grid positions at Lap 11.
