Brad Binder’s MotoGP future has taken another twist with the news that Enea Bastianini may be heading to Trackhouse.

Binder is out of contract at the end of the season and is one of the riders fighting to stay on the grid. Interest from elsewhere appears to be limited.

KTM have signed Fabio Di Giannantonio for 2027, based on the latest reports, and Alex Marquez will be his teammate. This has forced Binder to find a back-up option.

Enea Bastianini’s rumoured move to Trackhouse likely keeps Brad Binder in MotoGP

KTM satellite Tech3 had been in talks with Honda, but Guenther Steiner has opted to renew the existing deal instead. That was confirmed in Barcelona.

Steiner’s team are the obvious option for Binder after losing his factory spot, but their incumbent riders may be the priority.

KTM are keen to keep Maverick Vinales in the fold despite his recent injury trouble, and Enea Bastianini is currently their second-highest-scoring rider behind Pedro Acosta.

However, after previous links with Gresini, it now sounds as if Bastianini plans to join Trackhouse next year. Justin Marks needs at least one rider after losing Ai Ogura to Yamaha.

KTM could try to stand in his way, but ultimately, they’re unlikely to keep a rider who has long seemed set on moving elsewhere.

A new 2027 grid prediction from SPORT places Bastianini next to Raul Fernandez in the American team and puts Binder at Tech3 alongside Vinales.

Luca Marini was an option for Tech3 when the Honda deal was on the table, but now he’s relying on his half-brother Valentino Rossi to give him another chance at VR46.

And while Moto2 rider Daniel Holgado was also on the Tech3 shortlist, he has chosen Gresini instead.

In short, with the other candidates unavailable, Binder may drop to the satellite team by default. It’s not the most desirable outcome, but it keeps him on the grid.

After a scoreless weekend at Le Mans, Binder matched his best result of the season at the Catalan GP with P7. He feels he may have made a breakthrough with his bike set-up.
