Brad Binder is at risk of losing his factory KTM seat at the end of the 2026 season. Like most of the grid, he has entered the final year of his contract.

Binder may have hoped that Pedro Acosta’s anticipated move to Ducati would relieve the pressure on his seat, but it seems that KTM could sign two new riders for 2027.

Maverick Vinales is expected to replace Acosta after an impressive start at Tech3 last season. Vinales may have swapped seats with Binder already were it not for a mid-season injury.

What do you rate Brad Binder’s 2025 MotoGP season out of 10?

And there are strong rumours that KTM will sign Alex Marquez, last year’s world championship runner-up, to fill the other spot.

Brad Binder and Daniel Holgado could form 2027 Tech3 line-up

It’s unclear at this stage if Tech3 will still be a KTM satellite team next year. There are also suggestions that new boss Guenther Steiner wants to pick his own riders rather than letting his suppliers choose.

Still, a report from El Periodico suggests that Binder will have a soft landing at Tech3 next year after being dropped by the factory team. He scored his 2025 season a 3.5 out of 10, but he remains a premier-class race-winner with well over 100 Grands Prix under his belt.

How do you think Guenther Steiner will fare in MotoGP as Tech3 boss?

The Spanish outlet add that Daniel Holgado, who’s preparing for his second season in Moto2, could be Binder’s teammate. The 30-year-old would be cast as the mentor figure.

Incumbent Tech3 rider Enea Bastianini is a target for Aprilia as they seek a replacement for the Yamaha-bound Jorge Martin.

Who is Daniel Holgado, Brad Binder’s potential 2027 teammate?

Holgado stepped up to Moto2 after finishing runner-up to David Alonso in the 2024 Moto3 standings.

He upstaged Alonso with P6 in the intermediate class, which was enough to win Rookie of the Year. Holgado won the Catalan and Japanese GPs and also scored podiums in San Marino and Valencia.

Previous winners of Moto2’s RoTY award include Acosta, Francesco Bagnaia, Vinales and, of course, Marc Marquez.

Holgado is mentored by Pol Espargaro and has already raced in Tech3 colours during his stint at Tech3.
