For Ducati, the factory team ran with just one bike on the grid at Le Mans, with Pecco Bagnaia lining up on pole position. Unfortunately, it would be another scoreless race for the red Ducatis as the Italian fell and retired on lap 16.
Before the race, team manager Tardozzi provided an update on Marquez’s condition, confirming that everything had gone smoothly with his surgery.
He said on the grid via DAZN: “I think this race is very important, especially for Pecco. But our thoughts right now are with Marc, who has just come out of the operating theatre; everything went well, and we hope he’ll be back as soon as possible.
“The most important thing for us right now, apart from the sport, is Marc’s health.”
