Pedro Acosta was concerned after seeing Marc Marquez’s brutal crash during the French Grand Prix sprint race.

Marquez was visibly shaken after his crash during the sprint race at Le Mans. The injuries he sustained from the incident have ruled him out of the French Grand Prix and the Catalonian Grand Prix next weekend.

The crash at Le Mans is yet another unfortunate incident in a season full of them for Marquez, as the Spanish rider struggles to get this season under control.

With Marquez needing surgery for his injuries after the crash, it has become clear that the legendary Ducati rider is not in the best physical condition.

And given the impact he sustained, it’s hardly surprising that his fellow riders, including Pedro Acosta, were scared for his safety during the race.

Pedro Acosta was terrified for Marc Marquez after ‘strange’ French Sprint crash

Speaking to Spanish outlet Motosan after the sprint race, Pedro Acosta revealed his immediate reaction to the crash, and how terrified he was for Marc Marquez.

Acosta noted the similarities between Marquez’s crash and crashes he had endured in the past, and the damage they did both physically and psychologically to him.

“I saw the crash on the replay while I was still riding, and I was scared. It was nasty. I’ve had a couple of those with the KTM, like the one in Hungary last year or the one in Australia.

“They’re crashes that, even though they happened to me, a year later, I still can’t quite explain why they happened. It’s hard to understand. I hope Marc is okay because it was a strange and very hard impact.”

For a rider like Marquez to suffer crashes on back-to-back weekends like he has, there must be a level of frustration that cannot be understood.

Is it time for Marc Marquez to accept he won’t win another world championship?

Marc Marquez has not looked like himself at all this season. With his injury issues derailing his momentum, the reigning world champion hasn’t been able to get going in 2026.

Neil Hodgson claimed Marquez’s title hopes were done after his crash. But this latest incident might have far-reaching implications beyond this season.

There has been talk of Marquez possibly retiring at the end of 2026 if he can’t turn things around in a significant way at the end of this season.

And with the way things are going for him right now, it’s hard to see him making a miraculous comeback this year.

It might be best for Marquez to see out this season as best he can, and then make a decision on his future during the offseason.
