World Superbike teams need to sign ‘class’ Jack Miller with MotoGP career at risk, says Neil Hodgson

Neil Hodgson feels World Superbike teams should “100%” be trying to sign Jack Miller for 2027, with the Pramac MotoGP star set to be out of contract with Yamaha in 2026.

Miller returned to Pramac in 2025, after Yamaha offered him a lifeline for his MotoGP career after adding the Tuscan team as their satellite crew. The Australian’s efforts last term and his role in developing Yamaha’s new-for-2026 V4 engine also earned him another deal for 2026.

But while Yamaha re-signing Miller to another factory contract and keeping him at Pramac in 2027 when MotoGP will move to 850cc engines makes a lot of sense for the Japanese giant, the 31-year-old is now facing a lot of competition for his seat from the likes of Izan Guevara.

It is widely believed that Miller’s seat at Pramac is the only ride that Yamaha have to resolve for 2027. Toprak Razgatlioglu is set to stay at the Tuscan team for another year, while Aprilia ace Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura of Trackhouse are expected to join the works Yamaha squad.

Will Jack Miller still be a MotoGP rider in 2027?

Neil Hodgson feels Jack Miller would ‘fit in well’ in World Superbikes if he leaves MotoGP

Reports began to emerge at the end of March that Guevara is destined to ride for Pramac in 2027, when it was still possible that Razgatlioglu could move up to the factory Yamaha crew. But with Martin and Ogura now expected to join Yamaha in 2027, Miller faces being left out.

If Miller’s time in MotoGP is ultimately over at the end of 2026, then Hodgson feels a move to World Superbikes should “100%” be on the cards. Hodgson even thinks Miguel Oliveira is already showing WSBK teams why they should target Miller, after he joined BMW this year.

Hodgson said on TNT Sports 2 (08/05, 09:06): “100% you would. Jack’s a class rider, and will fit in well. I mean, you’ve seen how Miguel Oliveira fits in well already in World Superbikes.”

Oliveira moved to the World Superbike Championship with BMW this term, after he lost his MotoGP ride at Pramac to Razgatlioglu after Yamaha opted to retain Miller. The Portuguese star ranks fourth in the 2026 WSBK standings after four rounds and has taken four podiums.

Jack Miller is in a direct fight with Izan Guevara to ride for Pramac in 2027

A move to World Superbikes in 2027 could well be on the cards for Miller if Yamaha elect to look elsewhere for Razgatlioglu’s partner at Pramac. It is thought that Miller has an excellent chance to join Ducati’s Superbike team for 2027, especially if Nicolo Bulega goes to MotoGP.

Miller is not out of Yamaha’s thoughts for the 2027 MotoGP season just yet, though, as the Australian could still deny Guevara his promotion from the Pramac Moto2 team. According to AS, Miller is now in a direct fight with Guevara as Yamaha try to decide Pramac’s line-up.

Yamaha see Guevara as their best option if the Iwata outfit want to place a younger rider in their satellite squad next to Razgatlioglu, rather than retaining Miller for what would be his 13th year in MotoGP. Guevara is contesting his fourth year in Moto2 and second at Pramac.
