While Honda have been linked to Alonso, and Holgado is set for a move to Gresini, there has been no confirmation about either rider’s move.
But those confirmations look to have come from their current Moto2 team boss, Jorge Martinez Aspar, who noted that he was looking to replace his riders.

Jorge Martinez Aspar seemingly confirms Dani Holgado and David Alonso’s MotoGP future
In an interview with Marca, Moto2 team Aspar’s boss, Jorge Martinez Aspar, seemingly confirmed that both Dani Holgado and David Alonso would be making the jump to MotoGP next season.
Aspar is reportedly looking for their replacements already, as both riders are going to be leaving the team to pursue their MotoGP dreams.
However, the report states that neither rider is currently at liberty to discuss their future, so as not to interfere with their negotiations with MotoGP teams.
If these comments from Aspar are to be believed, then it should confirm several reports from this year that the two Moto2 stars are set to join MotoGP.
For more experienced riders still struggling to secure a seat for 2027, this news will not be received well, as it would limit their options even further.

2027 season promises to reshape how MotoGP looks
With this apparent confirmation, two new riders are set to join MotoGP next season, further diversifying the rider class.
With several riders set to move around next season, or bound to get phased out of MotoGP, the grid will look very different next year.
Of course, MotoGP are set to introduce new regulations in 2027, starting with the 850cc bikes. Under these new regulations, teams will also switch from using Michelin to Pirelli tyres.
With all these changes coming next season, fans can expect a paradigm shift, not just in the style of racing, but in how everything in MotoGP looks.
