As Fabio Di Giannantonio competes in the final year of his contract with VR46, his agent has begun conversations with multiple teams for 2027.
Yamaha were one of the teams in talks with Diggia, as they looked to pair him with the incoming Jorge Martin in 2027.
However, over the last few days, Yamaha reportedly signed Ai Ogura to complete their rider lineup, walking away from negotiations with Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Di Giannantonio has been in excellent form this year, as he currently sits fourth in the championship race behind Pedro Acosta.
However, it appears Giannantonio is open to staying with VR46, despite his agent confirming they’ve spoken to multiple teams about next season.

Fabio Di Giannantonio’s agent reveals he’s spoken with ‘several teams’ amid VR46 contract talks
Speaking in an interview with GPOne Italy, Diego Tavano, the agent of Fabio Di Giannantonio, revealed that he’s in conversation with VR46 over a possible contract extension.
He noted that he is in no rush to try and wants to secure the best deal for his client. And that involves him speaking to several teams about the future.
“There are several interests at the moment. We’re talking to several teams, but we don’t want to rush. Fabio is fully focused on the championship.
I’m taking care of his future, trying to carefully evaluate everything. We’re certainly optimistic that this partnership will continue.
“The ‘Diggia’ of two years ago is certainly not the same as today. As a result, they want to treat him like a top rider, which is why we’re taking a little longer.”

Fabio Di Giannantonio still has a ‘wonderful’ relationship with VR46
Speaking further, Tavano revealed that the talks with other teams have not strained the excellent relationship they have with Luigi Dall’Igna and the team at VR46.
“We get along great with Ducati and VR46: they’ve always treated Fabio like a top rider. VR46 is also a top team, where the rider is at the centre of the project.
“Staying there with a factory bike would be a top-notch solution. We have a wonderful relationship with the entire team, and Dall’Igna has shown great appreciation for what Fabio has done.”
As things stand, VR46 are likely to retain Di Giannantonio, simply because he’s proving to be too valuable for them to lose.
