The tension between Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi remains the most talked-about fracture in MotoGP history, and Francesco Bagnaia has explained why the Spaniard doesn’t need to put forth a peace treaty.
MotoGP fans were treated to one of the biggest bust-ups in premier class history during the 2015 season, which was defined by a split-second decision from Valentino Rossi at the penultimate round of the season.
After feeling like his title rival, Jorge Lorenzo, was being helped by compatriot Marc Marquez, Rossi took matters into his own hands at the Malaysian Grand Prix that year.
In the midst of a fierce battle with the Spaniard, Rossi appeared to kick out at Marquez, which saw the then-Honda rider take a tumble off his prototype as the Italian sped off into the distance.
The event is one of the most talked-about incidents in MotoGP history, with both Rossi and Marquez not saying much more than a word to each other in the public eye since.

Marc Marquez doesn’t need to resolve Valentino Rossi feud, according to Francesco Bagnaia
During an appearance on the BSMT podcast, Francesco Bagnaia was asked for his thoughts on the ongoing feud between Marquez and Rossi following the events of the 2015 MotoGP season.
The two-time premier class title-winner began by revealing how the clash between the two heavyweights of MotoGP affected him, saying, “Being from the [VR46 Riders’] Academy, you bring along all the huge fans of Vale and the very few haters of Vale. It’s normal for it to be this way, of course.
“The haters are much louder because you look at the comments and the positive ones, that’s just the way it is.
“I definitely carried with me what happened in 2015, but it’s not fair, because in the end I am another driver and I do my own thing.”
Asked if Marquez received his fair share of backlash from fans following the clash in Sepang, Bagnaia replied, “I think he might have. He might have. I’m from the Academy and he’s the one who argued and fought with Vale.”
The final question that Bagnaia fielded on the topic referred to whether the feud between Marquez and Rossi will ever be resolved, to which he said, “I don’t think there’s any need. In the end, that’s how it was.”

Bagnaia also delved into the topic of having the Ant of Cervera as his teammate at Ducati and offered an honest take on how it has affected him.
“I wanted to experience it, as a stimulus, honestly,” #63 began. “Marc Marquez is one of the best riders in history, along with Valentino. So you can only learn from a rider like that.
“Then he went through some difficult years and wanted to get back in the game and everything. In my opinion, it can only be a stimulus. And I tried to experience it that way when I was told he would be on the team.”
After recalling how Davide Tardozzi and Luigi Dall’Igna broke the news to him, Bagnaia was then asked how his relationship with Marquez has developed over the last 12 months.
He replied, “Well, it’s difficult for me to have problems with anyone. I’ve never had problems with my teammates. I’ve always been very relaxed with everyone. Marc is an intelligent person, after all.
“He adapted immediately, we had a good relationship right from the start, and we often discussed different situations and technical solutions, and it’s been a good working relationship.”
