Jack Miller will spend a second year with Pramac amid his second stint with the team in 2026, but it may be his final year in MotoGP as his Yamaha contract is set to expire.
The 30-year-old rejoined Pramac prior to the 2025 MotoGP season, having previously raced for the Tuscan team from 2018 to 2020, after he signed a one-year factory Yamaha contract. Yamaha seized the chance to hire Miller after he left KTM to help them develop a V4 engine.
Miller ultimately emerged as the second-best Yamaha rider in 2025, as Pramac became the Japanese brand’s second factory squad. Only Fabio Quartararo outscored Miller on the YZR-M1 in 2025 on 201 and 79 points, which convinced Yamaha to gift the latter a new contract.
Yet Yamaha only gave Miller a new one-year contract for 2026 to further help them develop their V4 engine in the final season of the current 1,000cc regulations. Yamaha are switching from an inline four engine to a V4 in 2026 to learn for the 850cc regulations starting in 2027.

Jack Miller’s ‘goal’ is to earn a new Yamaha contract for the 2027 MotoGP season
Yamaha have decisions to make about most of their rider roster, with Miller, Quartararo and Alex Rins all due to be out of contract at the end of 2026. Only Pramac’s Toprak Razgatlioglu currently has a factory Yamaha contract keeping him with the brand for the 2027 campaign.

Miller can see opportunities potentially opening elsewhere on the MotoGP grid in 2027, as well, with Razgatlioglu plus LCR Honda duo Johann Zarco and Diogo Moreira the only riders with contracts for next season. But Miller’s “goal” is to remain in the Yamaha ranks in 2027.
Miller told Sky Sports Italy: “Several riders will change teams in 2027. My goal is to stay with Yamaha and be on the grid in 2027 when the new regulations come into force.”
Jack Miller may have to consider World Superbikes if MotoGP teams overlook him
Where do you think Jack Miller will be racing in 2027?
Miller has been a part of the MotoGP field since 2015 and still has the hunger to ride in the premier class as it introduces new 850cc regulations in 2027. MotoGP is set to remove ride height devices and reduce the aerodynamic devices allowed to try to create closer racing.
But if Miller is to experience how MotoGP’s 2027 regulations play out, he needs to convince Yamaha or a rival brand to keep him in the field. Otherwise, the four-time Grand Prix winner is looking at a future in the World Superbike Championship, having merited interest in 2025.
Honda considered Miller for their 2026 World Superbike line-up while his future in MotoGP remained unclear. Also, Yamaha considered moving Miller to World Superbikes in 2026 with their factory crew, before the brand instead released Miguel Oliveira to keep him at Pramac.
Miller may need to consider what a life in World Superbikes could be like in 2027 if MotoGP teams do not come forward. Pramac and Yamaha are showing an interest in rivalling Aprilia to sign Enea Bastianini for the 2027 MotoGP season, which may leave Miller out in the cold.
