Ducati are looking vulnerable ahead of the upcoming MotoGP season, and Max Biaggi believes Aprilia may hold the key to dethroning them.
The main narrative during the 2025 premier class campaign was Marc Marquez’s sheer dominance over the grid.
The Spaniard returned to his finest form atop factory Ducati machinery and stamped his authority over the rest of the field on his way to a seventh world title.
However, Aprilia quietly emerged as a genuine contender for race wins in the latter stages of the season.
With Jorge Martin sidelined for the majority of the term, Marco Bezzecchi appeared as the Italian constructor’s flag-bearer.
The 27-year-old finished the season off with consecutive Grand Prix victories, and Aprilia brand ambassador Max Biaggi believes they can continue this year in the same fashion.

Max Biaggi tips Aprilia to provide consistent podiums for all of their riders in 2026
In a recent interview with TNT Sports, Biaggi had some fiery words for Aprilia’s closest rivals, Ducati.
The former MotoGP rider began by making his feelings clear on who the best Italian constructor on the grid is, saying, “I’ve been an Aprilia ambassador for ten years now, and it’s a great privilege for me to be associated with this manufacturer.
“Right now, honestly, they’re the only Italian manufacturer present in the MotoGP paddock, because as we all know, Ducati is German, due to Audi’s ownership.”
He then highlighted the faith he has in his team to put an end to Borgo Panigale’s dominance over the premier class, adding, “Now the bike has no weaknesses. There’s no track that scares us anymore.
“We can always be among the top three, among the top five. And not only with Bezzecchi, but Raul Fernandez has also shown that this bike works with other riders. We are very proud of this; the Piaggio Group has done an extraordinary job.”
During the San Marino round of the 2025 campaign, Neil Hodgson praised Aprilia for fixing their ‘weak area’ in MotoGP, which had long been stop-and-go circuits such as Balaton Park and Misano.

A Marc Marquez beater?
Marco Bezzecchi has already been identified as Marc Marquez’s biggest threat this year
Bezzecchi’s impressive end to the previous campaign has seen a multitude of figures within the MotoGP paddock identify him as the biggest threat to the Spaniard’s title-defending campaign this year.
Despite there being a few exceptions, MotoGP fans weren’t happy about Marquez’s one-horse race in the title hunt.
Former premier class rider Luca Cadalora believes that Bezzecchi will end that lack of a title contender for fans once the prototypes hit the track at the start of the new term.
The 27-year-old is yet to put up a genuine title challenge in the premier class since making his debut at the start of 2022. Hopefully, with a decent calibre of bike under him, he can turn his dream into a reality.
