With a MotoGP regulation change set to arrive in just 12 months, there isn’t long before the running order could completely change.
Nobody quite knows who will come out strongest in 2027, but we do know that the MotoGP rider market is going to be crazy and unpredictable before then.
It’ll be a challenge for the likes of Ducati and Marc Marquez to maintain the advantage they have held throughout the 2025 season.
The resurgent Honda could be a threat, as could Aprilia, now that they have begun to seriously contend for victories.

MotoGP bikes will be reduced to an 850cc capacity from 1000 in 2027, alongside new aero, and the removal of some controversial technology, such as the ride height devices.

Why the 2026 MotoGP season will be one of the most exciting in recent times
Marco Bezzecchi is the biggest threat to Marquez in 2026 and is carrying the most momentum into the new campaign.
He won the last two Grands Prix of 2025, and Aprilia’s bike is looking like it could be the best soon, with a strong winter of development.
In fact, it has forced Marquez to cancel his ‘holidays’ in a bid to make sure that he is especially ready to come back from his shoulder injury.
He will have had a solid four months to rest up and make sure that he’s as close to 100% as possible. He may even have to miss a test or two to allow for a proper recovery.
