Toprak Razgatlioglu and Diogo Moreira are MotoGP’s new rookies in 2026, taking to the grid with Pramac and LCR respectively.

The former comes to MotoGP off the back of winning his third World Superbike title with BMW in 2025. Razgatlioglu’s arrival in the premier class has been met with huge excitement and expectation as he links up with Yamaha.

Meanwhile, the latter will join Honda on a multi-year deal after becoming the first Brazilian rider to win the Moto2 championship. Marc Marquez had been ‘courting’ Moreira to join Ducati, but he opted to sign with the Japanese giants.

Razgatlioglu and Moreira will both have their work cut out in 2026 as they get used to MotoGP machinery. The pair both took part in the post-season test at Valencia on Tuesday, and microphones picked up the pair chatting in the paddock ahead of the outing.

MotoGP microphones pick up Toprak Razgatlioglu’s advice to Diogo Moreira ahead of Valencia test

Razgatlioglu privately tested Yamaha’s V4 bike at Aragon ahead of the Valencia test. The Iwata outfit want the 29-year-old to get accustomed to the new machine as they drop the inline four.

While he is a rookie, the Turkish rider has vast experience in motorcycle racing, while Moreira still has a lot of development to undergo at only 21 years old. Razgatlioglu was seen giving the Honda rider pointers ahead of his first outing on the RC213V.

Razgatlioglu said: “I listen a lot, but starting…” before Moreira chipped in: “Calm but…” The Pramac rider then offered his advice: “Too much calm.

“But you need to understand the front limit. OK, we need to maybe [have] some crashes to understand.” The pair then shook hands as Razgatlioglu offered his congratulations to Moreira over his move to MotoGP.

Diogo Moreira was ‘astonished’ by Honda’s MotoGP bike after his first run at the Valencia test

It was a difficult start to the Valencia test for Razgatlioglu and Moreira as the session was red-flagged due to damp track conditions. The duo eventually got out on track after hours of delay.

Speaking on the commentary on TNT Sports 2, LCR Honda boss Lucio Cecchinello hilariously revealed what Moreira said when he returned to the garage following his first run.

“He said: ‘Lucio, I s— in my pants!” he laughed. “I tell you, he said: ‘F—! The bike is so, so, so powerful. Not fast, really, really fast, but really, really, really, really fast!

“He said: ‘Unbelievable! I was astonished, really, really difficult also to understand the braking point.” It will certainly be a learning curve for the Brazilian, but the team have high hopes for his future – Moreira is already being tipped for a factory Honda seat in 2027.
