Jack Miller already feels ‘sorry’ for Toprak Razgatlioglu before his Pramac MotoGP debut

Jack Miller will have a huge test on the other side of the Pramac Yamaha garage in 2026 as he partners with World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu.

The Australian finished the 2025 season in 18th, having struggled to find consistency on Yamaha’s YZR-M1. Nevertheless, Miller secured his seat at Pramac for 2026, with Miguel Oliveira losing his spot through an exit clause in his contract.

He will swap places with Razgatlioglu at BMW in World Superbikes, with the Turkish rider making the move across to MotoGP in 2026. There is huge excitement surrounding his arrival, given his incredible talent and fanbase.

The 29-year-old is already getting to work behind the scenes at Yamaha as he tests the new V4 bike, which the Iwata outfit will introduce in 2026. Razgatlioglu tested the bike at Aragon last week and was off the pace of Fabio Quartararo, but that was to be expected.

He will get back onto the V4 at the Valencia test on Tuesday, having been in the paddock at the Valencia Grand Prix over the weekend. Razgatlioglu was kept away from Oliveira, presumably to avoid distractions in what was the Portuguese rider’s last MotoGP race.

Jack Miller feels ‘sorry’ for Toprak Razgatlioglu as he is ‘itching’ to get on Pramac Yamaha’s bike

It was a delayed start to proceedings in the Valencia test, with early storms at the circuit leaving the track damp for the opening hour. Miller went out for a sighting lap before coming straight back to the pits, as did Maverick Vinales.

Speaking in the pit lane via TNT Sports 2 (18/11, 9:17 am), the Aussie spoke about his new teammate Razgatlioglu. He admitted he felt ‘sorry’ for him as he is ‘itching’ to get on the bike, but has not had the chance to do that at Valencia all weekend.

Asked if he has had chats with the Turkish rider, Miller replied: “Yeah, absolutely. Toprak is a good lad and we’ve had a couple of good chats. I feel sorry for him, he’s been here all weekend and hasn’t been able to turn a lap in, so he’s itching to go.

“And then on a slow morning like this, especially at a cold Valencia, there’s nothing worse. I believe he can get out there sooner rather than later and scratch that itch.”

Asked if Razgatlioglu can adapt to the V4, he said: “He’s a world-class motorcycle rider, he’ll adapt relatively quick, I believe.

“He’s got a lot of experience on different manufacturers, albeit in Superbike, but still got two wheels and a throttle, so I’m sure he’ll be able to sort this one out as well pretty soon, pretty quick.”

Jack Miller explains how Toprak Razgatlioglu’s data can help him in 2026

With Razgatlioglu on board with Miller, Quartararo and Alex Rins, Yamaha have the experience and talent they need to improve the bike. While the WSBK champion has very limited knowledge of MotoGP bikes, Miller believes that his data can help him.

“Absolutely. I mean, different riding style obviously. As I’ve said before, there’s so many different ways to make these things work,” the Pramac rider added.

“Already this year, myself feeding off Fabio’s data, Fabio feeding off my data, we’ve been able to help each other out, I believe.

“Having another rider like Toprak, I think another completely different riding style again, you’re kind of getting all different sorts of data and you can see, ‘Oh, he’s getting the bike to work here, how is he doing so?’ So, I mean, all that is going to play into the strengths of Yamaha, I believe.”
