MotoGP fans slam Yamaha for ‘low blow’ after announcing Jack Miller at Pramac for 2026

The second-to-last ride on the 2026 MotoGP grid has finally been confirmed as Jack Miller remains with Pramac for another season.

He successfully beat teammate Miguel Oliveira to the gig, who has been on the back foot ever since missing four races earlier in the campaign following a big crash.

Pramac will also welcome rookie rider Toprak Razgatlioglu to the class, as he makes a switch from the World Superbike Championship.

The announcement finally puts an end to the MotoGP rider market, and months of speculation regarding Miller’s future in the sport.

Miller is now facing his last chance in MotoGP as his 11th season in the sport draws to a close. His performance hasn’t quite lived up to his expectations.

There’s even a chance that Razgatlioglu makes Miller wish he hadn’t stayed if he performs that well in his rookie campaign. That’s how special the Turkish rider could be.

MotoGP fans slam Yamaha for ‘low blow’ towards Miguel Oliveira after Jack Miller signs for Pramac

Even though Miller left Balaton Park ‘devastated’, he has every reason to be happy and enjoy himself over the last third of the season.

With his future secure, he can express himself a little bit more, but it comes at a cost. His teammate Oliveira is now off the grid.

Speaking beneath Miller’s announcement post on Instagram, fans have vented their frustration about the way the Portuguese rider was dropped.

“Using a release performance clause on a rider that was injured four races was a really low blow, Yamaha,” said one fan.

“Not professional from Pramac. MO88 joined for a ‘long-term’ project, and he’s proven to help bike development better than someone who barely won with the best bike in the paddock. Congrats to JM43,” responded another upset individual.

Sympathy continued to flow in from others, including someone who said, “Poor Miguel gets injured on one of your bikes and you fire him. No justice and no respect.”

Another fan added, “Money talks louder than the quality of the pilot… Come on Miguel, they don’t know how to value your quality as a pilot,” while someone else chimed in with, “Truly disappointed. Miguel deserves more respect.”

And finally, one last fan wrote, “What about Miguel?” with no confirmation regarding what his future holds for him currently, apart from a rumour that he might join Aprilia as a test rider.

Did Jack Miller deserve a renewal with Pramac for the 2026 MotoGP season?

Last year, Miller already came incredibly close to losing his place in MotoGP following a dismal few seasons with KTM.

In the end, he returned to the team where he enjoyed one of his best spells of form before receiving a promotion to the factory Ducati team in 2021.

Yamaha’s Japanese bosses disagreed about Miller, as their Italian counterparts felt as though he should be replaced.

A big factor in his renewal might have been his performance at the 2025 Suzuka 8 Hour, where he finished second. It’s a big event for the Japanese, and the result was a solid one.

Overall, his experience and the level of help he can provide Yamaha with in developing the new V4 engine warrant his renewal. He has also scored more points than Oliveira, who probably needs more time before getting back to 100% fitness from his injuries.
