Marc Marquez is currently in the most dominant form of his MotoGP career as he looks to add another world championship to the six he has already accrued in the premier class.
The championship leader has won 23 out of the 28 races to take place so far in the 2025 campaign, and will be looking to add to that at his home Grand Prix in Catalonia this weekend.
If results go his way this weekend, Marquez could secure the title by the following race weekend in Misano.
That may not go down well with fans loyal to Valentino Rossi, with Ducati already pleading with the Italian fans not to boo Marquez if he is successful at the circuit.

He will need another perfect weekend in Barcelona before that, but the rider is sceptical about being able to achieve exactly that.
Marquez stated he would hate the Catalonian circuit if it wasn’t his home race due to the fact that he rarely does well there.

Carlo Pernat was ‘very doubtful’ about seeing Marc Marquez back on top in MotoGP after injury struggles
Speaking in an interview with Moto.it, legendary MotoGP rider manager Carlo Pernat touched upon how he felt about Marquez’s chances of winning another premier class title following years of battling against various injuries during the back-end of his stint with the factory Honda team.
“I was very doubtful that Marquez would ever return to his former self,” Pernat admitted. “Not because of his riding but because of his health, because he’s been through hell: a twisted shoulder, a broken humerus.

“He went from hell to Gresini, which was purgatory, to the Reds, which is paradise. He’s already shown that he rides differently, because if you remember, with Honda, he was going over the top, he was always crashing.
“Now he does what he wants; it’s like he’s riding with one hand. He’s a phenomenon, hats off to you. Keep going like this, the championship could end even at Misano.”
Despite watching a multitude of races in 2020 and 2022 from a hospital bed, Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta never lost faith in Marquez’s abilities.
He was regularly in contact with the Spaniard’s doctors and was sure that the rider would come back stronger.
