Jack Miller will know that MotoGP results must come soon if he wants his career to last beyond the end of 2026.
The Aussie has been dealt a difficult hand riding Yamaha’s poor M1 bike for Pramac this season, but he did fluff a chance to take victory at the French Grand Prix.
Miller is yet to be announced for 2026, but he does appear to be the front-runner to line up alongside rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Lying 17th in the MotoGP standings isn’t a fair reflection of the shift he has put in this year, but he should be rewarded with a chance to show his value next year.
Miller left Balaton Park ‘devastated’ after suffering a clutch issue which led to a high-speed accident during the race.
Neil Hodgson thinks Miller should stay at Pramac for 2026, as he would provide them with an experienced option to develop their new bike. Having two rookies would be a huge risk.

Jack Miller is facing his last chance in MotoGP as contract extension looms
Pramac have decided between Miller and Manuel Gonzalez for their second seat, after months of speculation over who would get the ride.
Erring on the side of experience may be the best port of call, but to remain at the team beyond the end of 2026, if he receives a one-year extension, will require certain boxes to be ticked.
First of all, he has to help Yamaha achieve their goals. That means taking a lead on the development of their new V4 bike and achieving better results than new teammate Razgatlioglu.
After helping to push the bike forward, he must deliver on it. Scoring multiple podiums or even a victory, would go a long way towards convincing Pramac that they should sign him for 2027 and beyond.
With a new set of regulations coming soon, they would have to have belief in his skillset long-term to retain him.
Lastly, being the second Yamaha behind Fabio Quartararo would help, too. If he’s ahead of Alex Rins, he becomes almost invincible. He should be retained from there.
Which MotoGP move unsettled Jack Miller and left him fighting for his future
Whilst at Ducati, Miller was always a podium contender and was even able to nab the odd win from teammate Francesco Bagnaia.
Fast-forward a few years, and he’s on the verge of dropping off the grid, following the worst run of his career in the premier class.
Moving to KTM for 2023 turned out to be a bit of a disaster for the 30-year-old, as he struggled to get on with their bike at all.
Now he’s at Yamaha, the situation isn’t exactly better, but there is at least some light at the end of the tunnel with the V4 engine.
