Pedro Acosta has started to produce some important results for KTM and is starting to look like a threat for the podium every weekend.
The Spaniard secured his second podium in the last three races at the Hungarian Grand Prix, and was content to sit behind Marc Marquez all race.
Acosta didn’t push the limit or induce a crash as he might have done before. He showed a sign of maturity and calmness on his way to the rostrum.
It may have taken some time for KTM to develop their bike to the standard it always should have been at, but there might be a chance for victory between now and the end of the year.
The ‘supernatural’ Acosta ‘surprises’ Pol Espargaro with how he handles criticism. After being frustrated at his position earlier in the campaign, he has worked hard to make inroads on his rivals.
Sylvain Guintoli seems to think that Acosta has ‘definitely’ been arguing with KTM and may already be regretting it. He has nearly 18 months left on his current deal before becoming a free agent.

Honda’s Japanese management are bound to oppose Pedro Acosta move over ‘unforgivable’ crashing flaw
Acosta agreed to stay at KTM after he received a ‘tough’ warning from manager Albert Valera that he might be focusing on things that didn’t affect him.
Now that his focus has been renewed, he looks like a new rider. Currently sitting fifth in the MotoGP standings, a top-three finish could be possible by the end of 2025.
After being linked to Honda earlier in the season, the 21-year-old seemed set on finding a way out of his current team. That was before results improved.
There’s a chance that their Japanese management may not have been so keen on hiring him, given that they opted to remain with a rider who, according to MowMag, doesn’t have an ‘unforgivable’ flaw.
Luca Marini hasn’t crashed this season, and is the only rider on the grid who hasn’t done so. His instincts are impeccable, while Acosta can be prone to the odd mistake. It’s why Honda might have been hesitant.

Why Pedro Acosta must consider trying to join Honda’s MotoGP ranks in the future
Despite the doubts there may be from either side regarding making a move, there are also reasons to be optimistic.
Honda’s bike has improved rapidly recently, and entering the new regulations in 2027 with a superstar rider would hand them a significant boost.
Acosta must now consider joining Honda, especially with Red Bull now gearing up to leave KTM in the future.
There’s no need to rush into any deals, though. The majority of the grid is bound to make Acosta an offer he cannot refuse. Most importantly, he’ll need to take time to assess what is best for himself.
