The Hungarian Grand Prix was an excellent opportunity for talent to reign supreme as riders attacked a new track for the first time.
As has often been the case in 2025, Marc Marquez sealed a seventh consecutive MotoGP double and now looks set to claim his seventh crown before the end of September.
He was joined by Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi, who had another strong showing alongside teammate Jorge Martin, with a double top-four finish for the Noale-based manufacturer.
Matching his best result in the premier class was Pedro Acosta, who has taken advantage of KTM’s recent improvements to hone in on top spot. He has made some serious gains.
Acosta received a ‘tough’ warning from Albert Valera before committing his future to his current team. A VR46 seat in the future may have been tempting, but losing faith too soon would have been a mistake.
KTM have repaid his faith, and Acosta has ‘a lot of space’ to improve, according to Casey Stoner. Now, it’s his turn to find improvements.

Sylvain Guintoli says Pedro Acosta has ‘definitely’ been privately arguing with KTM in 2025
Acosta started to ‘suffer a lot’ with his front tyre in pursuit of a podium at the Austrian Grand Prix a few weeks ago, but didn’t face a repeat of such issues in Hungary.
Although he never really looked like challenging Marquez, he did look like the second most comfortable rider at Balaton Park.
He’s come a long way from the start of the season, when he was particularly vocal and frustrated about his struggles.
Sylvain Guintoli mentioned on TNT Sports that he believes the Spaniard will be ‘regretting’ being so open about his woes earlier in the year.
“It’s another good result for KTM, another great result for Acosta,” he said. “That’s great for confidence, and you can see it’s all coming back to him and with the team as well.
“They struggled so much at the start of the year, and you can tell by his interviews, the way he’s saying [things].
“They definitely had some arguments in there and he would definitely probably had moments that he was not regretting, but yeah regretting shouting and being angry and all that.”

Why Pedro Acosta may be the most relieved rider on the MotoGP grid
After failing to finish higher than seventh in the opening five races of the campaign, Acosta finally kicked into gear at the French Grand Prix.
Since then, he hasn’t finished lower than eighth and has only failed to score points due to two retirements.
Now that he’s finished fourth or higher in each of his last four races (including sprints), he can finally see the clear progress that KTM has made.
Acosta thinks he could beat Marquez on a Ducati, but there’s no chance of that being possible until 2027. For now, he will have to chip away at that feat with KTM.
