Jorge Martin is on the verge of returning from injury three months after his crash in Qatar, with the Aprilia rider set to make his comeback in the 2025 Czech Grand Prix.
The Czech GP returns to the MotoGP calendar this week, with the premier class returning to Brno for the first time since KTM rider Brad Binder won there in 2020. For Martin, the target in the 2025 Czech GP will be to finish a Grand Prix for the first time this term and for Aprilia.
Martin is yet to see a chequered flag this year, having crashed out of the Qatar Grand Prix on his debut for Aprilia in round four of the 11 staged to date this season. But after Martin rode Aprilia’s RS-GP25 at Misano, he is now set to return at Brno and silence talk about his future.
While the 27-year-old was out of action, Martin confirmed his attempt to leave Aprilia via an exit clause in his contract. But after seeing the Noale squad firmly reject the Spaniard’s view that his injury did not void the exit clause, Martin has yielded and will stay at Aprilia in 2026.

Jorge Martin ‘told’ Albert Valera that Aprilia’s bike is ‘much better’ after Misano injury test
Aprilia will be glad that Martin has come around to their stance about his future. The Italian factory will also be glad to hear that the Madrid native told his agent, Albert Valera, after his test at Misano that Martin feels Aprilia’s bike is ‘much better’ than the one he rode in Qatar.

Valera has confirmed that Martin will undergo another medical test before the Czech GP just to confirm that the 11 ribs he broke in the Qatar GP have healed. He also adds that Martin is happy with the gains that Aprilia have found in his absence to improve their RS-GP25’s grip.
“We want to focus on the sport now,” Valera said, via SPEEDWEEK. “At the beginning of the week, Jorge will undergo another medical test. This will check again whether his ribs have fully healed.
“The bike is much better now and offers more grip and confidence than when Jorge last rode it. It’s simply less nervous, Jorge told me.”

The severity of the injuries to Martin’s lung forced him to remain in Lusail for a further two weeks and endure a lengthy rehabilitation process, which is finally set to come to an end at the Czech GP. Martin had qualified P14 in Qatar and he secured P16 during the Sprint Race.
Qatar had marked his first competitive appearance for Aprilia after also requiring surgery on his fractured left hand before the season-opening Thai Grand Prix. He crashed while training on a Supermoto while he was already recovering from injuries to his right hand and left foot.
Martin faced an injury-plagued start to his Aprilia career after joining the Noale factory from Pramac after Ducati snubbed him for a works promotion. He first crashed during the Sepang Test when Martin highsided during the opening day, having only completed a couple of laps.
