Francesco Bagnaia showed signs of progress at the Dutch Grand Prix and was as quick as he has been all season for Ducati.
The two-time MotoGP champion may trail teammate Marc Marquez by 126 points in the riders’ championship, but he hasn’t completely given up on the season.
At every race, Bagnaia continues to fight to find solutions for his woes with the GP25 bike. It hasn’t suited him all year, and he has taken a few steps back compared to last year.
And Ducati have been supporting him every step of the way. Sadly, whatever setups they try or parts they change, it doesn’t seem to be coming together for them.
Despite a solid Dutch Grand Prix result, Ducati may have to remind Bagnaia of his duties after he walked out of a press conference following the race.
It came just days after Bagnaia lamented a Ducati technical problem he has been battling with for ‘years’, as he revealed he cannot seem to get his setup right for sprint races.

Luigi Dall’Igna will ‘never quit believing’ in Francesco Bagnaia after masterful Pedro Acosta overtake
Davide Tardozzi is ‘sure’ Yamaha want to sign Bagnaia and believes it is a privilege for rival teams to be admiring their talent.
At the same stage last year, Bagnaia had earned six victories after 10 races. This year, he has one, but fortunately, there is plenty of time to make up for his poor start.
Bagnaia has been left feeling guilty for his Ducati crew after seeing the amount of effort they have put in to get him back on track, and he hasn’t been able to reward his side of the garage much so far.
However, Luigi Dall’Igna continues to support him and praised one masterful thing he did against KTM’s Pedro Acosta at Assen.
“For me, his most intense this year excluding, perhaps, the win in Austin,” he said on his own LinkedIn. “He narrowly missed the Pole Position due to two imperfections in the crucial time attack lap.
“After an excellent start his pace was equally sound, which was also proven by the fast lap he recorded in the race. It goes without saying that we have to keep pushing, never quit believing and take the best from what we can do together, like his masterly overtaking of Acosta.”
Marc Marquez does one thing that makes Francesco Bagnaia ‘suffer a lot’ in 2025
Having a six-time champion who is desperate to end a six-year run without a title as your teammate cannot be an easy gig.
The Marquez redemption and recovery story is incredible, and Bagnaia hasn’t had an answer for him at all this season.
But he has pointed to an issue with his forks, which is denting his confidence and ability to lean on the front of his bike. It could be fixed over the winter.
Marquez makes Bagnaia ‘suffer a lot’ by being so quick in curves, particularly the ones they faced at Mugello when he dominated.
The belief is that Bagnaia still has his pace, he may just need a different bike to find it again. Marquez has managed to find a way to get the GP25 to work, which even Fabio Di Giannantonio at VR46 can’t copy.
